Hello a while back when I first started playing and reading in the forums I read a post about road maps to sl. I thought it was a good idea then and have actually talked several of my friends into joining me on a SL Road trip how ever we need maps. I want to be able to rez a bus for me and my friends and drive it all over the SL grid. Does any one have the link that shows the SL Map. And can I get a version for my avatar in game. Once again thanks for your help.

OK thanks so much. I do remember that it was a road map of roads that you can drive on non stop. I hope he has some of those.

I was really surprised to discover recently how much more extensive the road system had become...way to go Mole.

Really great way to explore SL.

What I did was just save the images to my HD and then I'll import them into SL..
that should work.

I got the maps last night and went off on a journey, but couldn't (quickly) find a good location to actually rez my vehicle in and ended up wearing a stupid freebie horse.

I so want to rez my awesome motorcycle...the sim(s) i tried either said "can't rez here because land owner blah, blah, blah" or "sim full".

Anybody know of a place along the roads to rez stuff?

For the newer roads with the rounded shoulders, look for signs like this near sim crossings. Those build areas are right on the pavement.

For older roads, search the places tab for "rezzing", that will give you a few starters. For accidents along the way, it pretty much comes down to flying along the roadsides looking for build-enabled parcels. Once rezzed, you can edit the vehicle back onto the road if it's too hard to drive back on or scripts are off.

If only sim crossings were a bit smoother ... and the guard rails a bit higher. :) Still love trying the roads out even so.

In my limited experience, the more passengers, the rougher the sim-crossings. Seems to help some if everyone removes scripted attachments and as many prims as they can bear to part with, but that may be just superstitious, so YMMV.
