To be more specific:

If I build objects that change their textures, not using textures in their own inventory, but referencing, by scripts and UUID, textures I have in my inventory, will these objects be broken if I sell or give them to someone else?

Assuming the permissions are set correctly on the textures (and I can't remember off the top of my head what permissions are needed for this to work...), it will work regardless of who owns the script.

The XYText scripts are good examples of this technique.

They will work for who ever owns them as long as the asset servers still contain the textures, whether in your inventory or not.
