Attachment Failures

Anybody else having a ton of these? Over half the time I try to go somewhere this week I end up arriving bald with my shoes up my ass. I can't go anywhere! LL has me grounded at home. I quit the game, which counts as a normal log-out, but I wish there were a "logging out pissed off" button.

This is a common problem experienced by many people.

The obvious but fairly undesirable answer is to remove all attachments before teleporting. No one really cares for that one.

I have heard that HIDING your attachments can help. This makes them invisible on your display, but they are still there for everyone else... so you won't be teleporting in bald and shoeless. Once you've arrived and started rezzing, you can un-hide everything.

Do you know how to use the client menu to hide your attachments?

And I have to agree with the OP that this is a really annoying problem.

It used to be that I might show up bald or shoe up arse and have to do the detach/wear routine. Lately, I TP somewhere and the prim part of my skirt seems to be missing. So I go to detach/wear except I can't detach cuz it isn't showing as being worn. I then try to wear and it says I can't cuz another attachment for that spot is pending - and within a few minutes the skirt finally shows up. The last 2 times that happened, 10 minutes later I still had no skirt - finally said 'wear' on another skirt (which happened immediately) and then 'wear' on the original and that fixed that problem.

I am definitely going to try the 'hide attachments' option now - did not know that was possible.

It's just something I've heard... I haven't tested, because as you know, I'm a no attachment kind of girl.

Say what you want about my unkempt av hair, at least it stays on my head!

The real question is how we know other people are seeing our attachments.

I always wondered, those times when I TP somewhere and look naked to myself for a while, whether others see me as clothed or naked or even Ruth'd.

For me it has happened a LOT more this past week. I have put *everything* I wear into an emergency avie folder so I can replace everything quick when it happens...

When I see myself as naked or bald, others usually see me as normal, but when I have my shoes and hair up my butt, they can see that... now which is more humiliating???

I have also noticed textures being more sluggish to load than usual this past week.

I get the opposite problem... to me I look normal, but people ask me "Errr... Ory... you gonna put on some hair?"

When checking out a property, it is a good idea to hide prims in your viewer so you can see if any secret 16m blocks are cut out.

I did this when investigating a neighbor's land for sale, and was utterly flabbergasted by a woman walking around... bald, deformed feet, and naked from the waist down! It took me several minutes before I realized that hiding prims had also hidden her prim attachments. Of course she had hair, high-heeled shoes, and a prim skirt.

But it's worth noting that wearing panties is a good idea when you're out in public in a prim skirt!
