I'm looking for good pigtails. Flexy, don't collide with the body, etc etc. If you know the hairstyle name, please post it too! The more realistic, the better. I'm going for the high school cheerleader look, if that helps.

Brianna, from Sirena hair. One of my faves ^_^

as far as i know, flexi prims are always phantom, so there's no way to keep them from passing through your body, other than making them only a little flexible, so that they can't bend far enough to reach your body, or by positioning the flexible parts some distance from the body and making them too short to reach the body when flexing, neither of which looks natural for hair. but i could be wrong.

one of my family made a really cute ponytail hairstyle awhile back that always reminded me of a cheerleader. She doesn't sell them anymore but drop Marie Gateaux an IM. I will call her later (when its a decent hour for her to get a phone call) and have her log in. I am sure she could drop it on you if the servers haven't eaten her inventory. :)

I will grant . . . I skimmed lightly over the "cheerleader" bit. But Laurin and I have spoken about pigtails, actually -- when we bumped into each other recently shopping for hair. And she DOES have some pretty far-out hairstyles that she keeps in reserve, including, I am pretty sure, lots of pigtails.

Did we ever get a definitive answer on this? I have a few pigtails in my inventory, but none that I'm really in love with...

This is the case.

Flexi works a bit like Dynamic cloth in 3D - it folds and moves based on environmental effects. One thing I've seen from working with Dynamic cloth is that the moment you add in collision detection, it slows a render down by an order of thousands.

Doing collision detection on the fly, in real time, on today's technology and bandwidth limits, is just not viable at framerates above 1 per 20-50 minutes. :)

This section specific to ponytails will get you started, hopefully:

I'm more of a Stringer Mas ponytail type so my personal favorites wouldn't really do for the girl next door cheerleader.
