1. My av sometimes walks funny, or won't stop walking until I quit and restart. Do I have overlapping AOs ? Can you tell without trying them all?

2. I have seen some beautiful body language on many av's this week? Is there a shop which sells them? I also want hug and kiss included.

3. Do good skins come with animations? Can you refer me to some 4-5 good shops which will customize a package for me?

4. Oh, heck; Are there body-image consultants/shoppers in SL who know this stuff for a fee?

Hi chap.....You keep walking sometimes if the sim is laggy, or your internet connection is struggling. It generally doesn't happen in less busy areas. Don't know what you mean 'body language', are they tattoos?. Good skins as far as I am aware don't come with animations. AO's are bought separately. You can pay big moola for them, so try and adapt a standard lap AO with 5/6 standing poses bought for half the price :), many helpers at the help places can show you how. I guess there must be image consultants in SL, heck the shops might even offer that service. Failing that, many of the time served ladies in here, love to make over newbies, so if you've got a bulging wallet to throw at your looks, try asking for help at the forum hangout. Alternatively post the request in the appropriate forum section.

Hell boy we all walk funny, this is SL doncha know........................

That probably happens at a sim crossing. It's a well-known glitch, er, feature of SL. I've found one way to stop it is to hit the escape key several times. You'll then shoot back almost to where you were.

AFAIK skin creators do not sell anims packaged with their skins. Your might want to search the XStreetSL website: http://www.xstreetsl.com for skins, shapes, and AOs. I'm afraid I don't know very much about this particular area, so can't be of any more help.

Next time you're in-world look for NCI. They run courses for newbies and will be able to answer most of your questions.

1. Some objects, especially shoes or boots, have AOs built into them, either as HUD attachments or as scripts. You may have one of these and not know it.

2. Body language is due to animation built into your AO. AOs can affect your stand, sit, fly and lots of other animations, not just your walk. There are several stores out there that sell really good AOs loaded with nice stands. You'll probably have to buy a separate Hug/Kiss HUD. I recomment Meike's.

3. Skins do not have anything to do with animations. Skins are just skins.

4. Yes. ;-)

I suggest getting a ZAHO hud AO and making your own custom..

If you visit XStreet there is a great AO (FREE) it's called bright AO..

I have many different animation makers animations in my AO..

Vista and Akyeo are two of the places I have used... Just shop around for Animations in world.. Animations and Skins are two of the toughest things to get perfect cause you have to roam around in world to Demo them.

Great advice Taylor, except the OP is brand new and customizing his AO can wait until he's been more used to SL.

Search for LAP, a big shop for animations. Walk into the first floor, they have a free AO for avatars under 30 days old. One for men, one for women. Nice walk, relaxed stands. Sometimes the understated ones are more powerful than the twisting "nervous" ones that walk around and stretch all the time, IMHO.

I assume the OP isn't a month yet. Just "buy" it as you buy other free items. then find it under "recent items" and click "wear". No need to drop it on the floor, I think it comes ready to wear in a folder. You should see a symbol appear in one of the corners of your screen. See if your avatar changes his stands. If not, maybe the AO is turned off. Usually the AO symbol is red when it's turned off.

Some areas don't allow scripts, but I think LAP has scripts turned on, so that shouldn't be a problem. As long as you wear the AO and it's turned on, you can go to places that don't allow scripts and it will continue to run. If you turn it off or detach it in a no-scripts area it will not start before you leave that place and try a place that allow scripts.

Yea I wasn't thinkin about that.. lol....

But the Bright AO comes ready to go male/female versions and is free and can be edited later on.. So I'd still say go for that.

And to answer the other question. You won't really find skins that come with anything other than a shape.. Skins will most likely become your biggest expense.

For help with buying skins and other stuff to look good, don't you have a sub? You mention buying a collar in another thread. Most females who's been in SL a while love shopping and will take you around.

I love shopping too, but my RL has been so terrible busy that I hardly have time to build on the house when I log in.

There are several fashion blogs for SL. Here's one that has some newbie starter tips, including tips to the guys.

One fashion blog for men: If you don't find anything you like on the top posts, I suggest you look a few pages back. That show many different looks. If you scroll down the right sidebar a bit, you will find a "Skinpedia", skin reviews. They are not totally new, many of the shops has updated their skins since then. PXL, Redgrave and Belleza are 3 skin shops with skins I like.

This is maybe the best male blogger. . He shows several skins, but I think he looks absolutely best in Belleza skins! These blogs provide you with direct slurls to the shops. Maybe you don't need more image consultant than that? They also have links to other blogs if you don't like their style.

Last but not least, .

Men need to buy their genitalia. Xcite is a big shop, but a bit overrated in my eyes. I don't like the green chat that spam the screen, if guys can't type their own words they aren't worth cybering with. But that's my opinion, what works for you and your partner/s is what matter. If you want a realistic looking penis that don't talk, you can look at the Lotus. The Xcite can be turned silent too, so it's much a matter of which look you like best. Penises can be customized to match the skintone you choose.

Two good suggestions for AO's then. ;)

Oh, Imagen has a free skin for avatars under 30 days old. Great to have a nice skin to walk around in until you are really sure what skin you want to buy. Male skins usually cost 2000L. And the Imagen skin pack for men comes in different skin tones and are much better than the free skins you find in newbie places.

Did the search you suggested, but with unclear results... Can you be more specific? Luna? Which shop?

Are you a male av? Vista has a decent male AO for 1L and another good one for 99L.

For male skins there are some nice shops, like KMadd, or you could join DSN or read the male freebie blogs. Are you on a L$ budget? If so, what is the range?

(PS you can get a hug animation for free at a lot of places. I don't know of any offhand. Marianne's post mentioned that you collared someone. Don't collars contain some of those animations for couples?)
