... Can I still keep my inventory?

I need to take a break from SecondLife for a bit, but I don't want to loose my inventory I've built up. Will I still keep the same inventory moving from the paid membership to the free one?

I don't want to cancel my account, just downgrade to the unpaid tier.

Thanks for your help.

Yes. As long as you keep an account, and don't cancel it, all your stuff will be there when you come back.

Great, Thanks for the replies.

Is there a min. time frame where you have to log in every so often so your account doesn't get deleted? Like once every couple of weeks or once a month or the like?

I would think there must be some minimums otherwise the system would get cluttered with accounts that no one uses.

thats exactly what LL wants, number inflation

no idea if there is an actualt time frame, but with the current numbers showing, i kinda doubt it

Nope. just keep the account activated, and you can stay away as long as you like.

Alicia and I seem to be playing tag tonight.

Just a few additional things :).

When you downgrade, make sure it actually says so on your account page and check that you are indeed downgraded back to Basic when you're supposed to (it can take a few days past the expiration to change from Pending to Basic).

When you're a basic account again, make sure they're not still charging you tier, even if you never owned anything more than your free 512m² (it happens).

The reason for all the extra hassle is that things do go wrong from time to time and while a basic account will never get deleted except for a ban, LL had no problem deleting paid account if they fall behind on a payment and a 'past due' account will have its inventory and L$ permanently purged after 90 days.

It's likely that you'll have no problems, but it won't hurt to have an occasional glance at your account page a week after you're supposed to have reverted to basic just to make sure there's no unpleasant surprise waiting for you when you get back :).

You have to *ask* to have your account removed, and it's not something you could do by accident, since there are several "are you sure?" messages, as I recall.

Yeah unless you request it specifically, LL never remove dead accounts, otherwise there would be a hell of a lot less people in the registered users numbers.
