If i mute someone, would it prevent them from buying my rental land? I don't want 1 particular person or group to take the land. How could i prevent it?

As far as I know, muting does just that, mutes someone, and nothing else. But how can someone 'buy' your 'rental' land, muted or not? And surely you can choose who rents from you, if that's what you mean.

Rental Land Resale
12-14-2007 06:46
It's not my sim. But it a very nice piece of land i rent on a sim, in which i can "resale". Bought for 40K and i hate to take a complete loss. The other option is to just let the Sim owner retake it to lease out to another, which at this point i am willing to do in order to prevent the muted neighbor from buying it and making a profit with it, as they plan a "resale"

If it's Mainland, anyone can buy it if it is set for sale to anyone. Even if they are banned from the parcel, they can just buy it from the next plot over. Muting does not affect the land purchase at all, except you won't see an IM if they send one after they make the purchase.

No, it's all in the estate owner's hands. If you set it for resale, only they can prevent your neighbor from buying it, or revert the land back to you if they do. Just FYI, if it had been Mainland, anyone can buy it if it is set for sale to anyone. Even if they are banned from the parcel, they can just buy it from the next plot over. Perhaps post signs that it is for sale and have the potenetial buyer contact you directly so you can set it for sale to that individual only. Thats the only way I can think of to "filter" who buys it.

Rachel,
I'm assuming that this is land on a private estate, and that the covenant allows you to resell it.
IF those are both true, you should also be able to set the price, in the About Land menu.
So...you dislike your neighbor enough that you've muted him. And he wants your land. Well, (insert evil cackle here)! You are in a wonderful position, not a quandary.
Just set the land for sale at a price where your foe will make little or no profit. Then let him sweat as he decides whether or not to buy it. Either way he decides, you win. Either you sell it to him, at a price that makes him scream, or it doesn't sell, and the sim owner takes it back. And you don't even have to speak to him. If he wants the land, he can buy it from the About Land menu. No questions, no haggling.
Be sure to set it for sale to "Anyone". That way, if someone comes along who wants the land even more badly than your neighbor, you get the added bonus of denying him the land AND pocketing a fat profit.
