Will this run SL you think?
I'm thinking of getting an HP laptop with this card.
Thanks,

From the system requirements pages: Unfortunately, if your graphics card includes any of the following words, it's NOT compatible with Second Life: [snip] Intel Intel Extreme [snip] I know it can be done with the intel stuff, but i'm guessing it won't be pretty You could try your luck on the technical forum, see if anyone has tried it.

Oh God STOP NO don't buy it! Seriously! That chipset is an endless PIA with SL! Just search for in the forums for 945 and you will see several threads discussing it.
I have two Laptops with the 945GM set. One still works with SL. But its days are clearly numbered, and the PC runs at 100% CPU utilization because nearly all rendering appears to be done by the CPU. The laptop runs very hot, and I now use an external fan -the need for which I discovered by frying a RAM chip.
The other, a Thinkpad, recently began refusing to work with SL at all. I think LL is rolling out rendering changes server-side that make demands that the Lenovo drivers cannot handle.
The GM suffix indicates that this is the Mobility version of the chipset. The non-mobility version, used in many desktops, works OK but also is 3D crippled.
