I'v created a couple of tattoo's, how do I just wear the tattoo, without the rest of the clothing item?

A tattoo is just an image on a clothing template with the rest of the area where clothing would a transparency on the alpha channel. So if you made the tattoos correctly then you just wear that layer of clothing the tattoo was applied to.
