For three days my entire buddy list has said "
waiting)" where buddy names should be and at the top a friend named Hippos LOL. Does anyone have a fix for this? |

This is probably the one thing I haven't seen in SL for myself. When the hippos come to play, the friends list is borked and I'm not sure how it's fixed. Maybe some else does, so I'll bump

The situation is vastly improved in the RC, the hippos have been replaced by (Loading...).
Really, what version of the viewer are you running? Older 1.19 releases had this problem all the time, later 1.19 and 1.20 seem to have got it back to the former "usually works" state. _____________________

Don't know why they're called Hippos, but it just means 'Friends on Line' is borked (on your viewer?) Try looking at 'Calling Cards' in your Inventory instead. I know, only accessible when your online, but better than nothing.

Does anyone have a fix for this?It's an easter egg of sorts, and only shows up (with "waiting"  when the friend's list stuff dun load right. 1.19.0 because I'm scared to download the new viewer with all the problems I've been hearing about. Oh, well that problem was fixed, don't believe everything you read You can always keep the old viewer around as a fallback if you run into problems with a more current release. _____________________

When your friends are loading it says "Hippos..." When your friends are loaded, it's time for you to say, "Give me the car keys." Friends don't let friends go There. |

Does anyone have a fix for this?Try clicking on one of the options at the bottom of the list like 'Show Online' or whatever it is called. Sometimes that will force a load of your list. |
