Heres a fun activity. Try to find objects in SL that have a creation date of 1969.

There is tons if you know where to find some of the oldest builds in SL. Don't ask me why they have that date. It's a default or something.

I found some protected land (ocean) sims claimed on that date (12-31-69 16:00:00 hours).

I was gonna suggest that it was Philip Linden's B-day, but.. he was born in '68, not '69.

Running a Google on the date seems to bring up it being a "default" or "error" date. Amazing.. still doesn't answer why that date, however.

id assume it's because the timecode was set to zero and your timezone has an offset?

jan 1, 12am 1970 is the unix date at when the counter is zero

What's going to happen to the grid when the # of created accounts reaches the maximum possible number that can be stored in an integer? Or the combined total of avatars, textures, and various other items exceeds the possible combinations in the UUID system?

This makes sense as SLT is GMT - 8 hours or 12/31/1969 16:00.
