1. I found a store that sells weapons, such as guns and melee weapons. Are there places to use these?
2. I came across a wrestling arena that puts on weekly shows. Is it possible to become a wrestler in SL? And if so, how?
(I am new so sorry for the newbie questions)

Not sure if you came across the Digital Championship Wrestling Federation, which is the federation I help own and operate along with Alpin Criss. We do two weekly shows, and are as of right now the only fully operational wrestling federation in SL (and have been for over a year now). There are others that are startups, so you may have seen one of those.
If you're interested in becoming a wrestler (at the DCWF atleast), best thing to do is drop an application off at the arena lobby. However, we do require all of our wrestlers that we bring in to be atleast 1 month of age in SL before acceptance, so if you're patient enough and stick around a few weeks, you'll have a chance at joining up with us!

Yes, it was the DCWF which I found under Hot Spots.
I am not 30 days old yet but as soon as I am I will submit an application. I am a long time wrestling fan and this sounds right up my alley.

As for weapons, there are whole sims and smaller combat arenas dedicated to various sorts of combat, from modern infantry and mechanized warfare, to swords and sorcery combat, to historical Japanese Samurai duels. Do a search for "Combat" to locate such places. Some combat areas use the basic damage system (Damage-enabled parcels), where you see a small heart and a health meter on your window's title bar. Take enough damage to "die" and it force-teleports you to your "Home" location and restores your health rating. Other sombat areas (the majority these days, I think) use specific combat systems that use attachments or HUD's worn by participants, and those attachments deal with the damage and effects. (The Spellfire magical combat system is like that). Usually the entry point for an area that allows combat will tell you their rules, and what systems/gear are alowed.
As a general rule, DO NOT assume all of SL is a free-fire combat zone. The majority of SL Residenst are NOT here for combat and do NOT appreciate getting shot at or otherwise attacked, and will abuse report you if you use weapons outside of a designated combat area. In some areas, they don't even want you wearing a visible weapon at all.

Guerrilla marketing? Pep (Posts for sale?)
PS Waits for a suggestion in Annabel's thread that she might find some nice men among the wrestlers.

Falkor, Weapons work in SL...sort of. In damage-enabled regions, weapon hits take away avatar "health" points. In regions that aren't damage-enabled, all they do is push people around...even great big cannonballs just push. In regions that are push-disabled, the push they impart is much milder. In regions that don't allow scripts, many weapons won't draw, or operate. In regions that have build disabled, guns can't rez their bullets. For example, I have a lovely .45 automatic. It fires a "hydra shok" round that attacks its target, pushing him this way and that until he leaves the sim or until I tell it to back off. If it's still live and he returns, it attacks again. In a damage-enabled region, it's deadly. In a normal region, it throws its target around most amusingly. In push limited regions, the target just sort of vibrates in place a little. And in no build regions, I can't fire it at all. Because of all these limitations, the ingenious weapon-makers have created some weapons that use their own combat systems, typically swords and other melee weapons. These work just about anywhere, provided your opponent has a weapon that uses the same system. Duels, both informal and organized contests, are popular. I have a scripted katana that uses the Samurai Island C I system. It has beautiful animations and takes real practice to use effectively. It's great fun, but only good for actual combat against other C I weapons users. You want real combat, go play Call of Duty or something.
