Hi Everybody

Has anyone got a message like this when trying to login or can help me understand what this might be?

I haven't been having any problems, then when i tried to login today i keep getting the message: login failed. The inventory system is currently unavailable.

All the Best to All :)

Sounds like the asset servers are acting up again.

Best advice I can give is, just keep trying.

Inventory Database Maintenance Planned

[Finished 03:30am PST] This maintenance has been successfully completed.

In addition to the planned maintenance for Debit/Credit Card Processing, we will be swapping round one of our inventory databases on Tuesday 10th March at 3:00 AM Pacific.

The work should last around 30 minutes and, for a small number of residents, access to items in your inventory will be temporarily unavailable during this time.

LL *used* to broadcast grid-wide announcements whenever they were going to be disrupting services, or whenever the asset servers were acting up. I honestly can't recall the last time I had received such an in-world notice. Nowadays, the only time I find out that there's a problem with the system and I should avoid rezzing no-copy items in-world is AFTER I have attempted to rez a no-copy item in-world and watched it go poof!

At least when you got one of the old grid wide announcements you had a choice. You could stay and wait around or go offline for a while. I usually logged off since you never knew what wackiness could commence.

I knew someone who once teleported just after one of those grid notices, and he landed in a strange room that was full of other avatars. They had all been rerouted there, with more appearing every second. Only problem was that nobody appeared wearing their clothes. AND the servers wouldn't let you put any clothes on.

Finally somebody found the single door to the room and it must have been like a funnel as everyone tried to get out. The servers hadn't let anybody tp out of the room, so my friend had to fly into some nearby sims until he found one that let him teleport out. He now wears a speedo under his clothes most of the time.

Give me warning LL that you're tweaking the whole grid again, that is only fair to your residents.

...and *this* is why I tended to stay in-world when those notices went out! This sounds like an impromptu party in the making right there! :D
