the new front page of SL doesn't have the forums link on it. how in the heck do we find it from there now?

good thing i happen to have some random (very old) thread bookmarked.

There's a forum link down near the bottom on the unlogged in page I just loaded.

One can make a bookmark for forums.secondlife.com or /invalid_link.html .

On my browser, forums.secondlife.com is always the top link in the address bar dropdown list of visited sites.

The front page hasn't changed on mine. I hit refresh / reload to make sure. The forums link is near the bottom of the page. Or are we talking about two different front pages?

I bookmarked the main forum page way back, so I wouldn't even notice if they moved things around from the main web page.

From the main SL page, their is a Community link just above whatever current dorky picture they are showing, and then a Forums link on the left side. Or from the main page, near the bottom, under the Community category.

Logged out, with all secondlife.com cookies deleted, I'm just got the new homepage, with the flash.

And I also got

So for the time being it's hard to know what someone is seeing when they look at secondlife.com .

I supposed I could create a bunch of alts to test this but I don't really want to.

If you click on Build, you see a short video, and you get a link to click to create your avatar and sign up. Do you get a Build specialized entrance experience or just show up at Help Island like it's been being?

If you choose Flirt do you get a Flirt specialized entrance experience?

Or the same, show up, likely with a wispy ghost avatar, in a world of gray cardboard?

Has the problem with the low retention rate been that people go to secondlife.com and just leave right from there without clicking links at all?

Actually, when you click on Community, you'll then need to look on the left side and click on Forums to get the forum log in page.

I think the new front page is good. It does give more of a feel of what SL is like. I'm surprised how small the logo is, like it's low-key. However I feel it would be even better if there was a picture of MEEEEE on it

We're all used to the blue and white style so the new look takes getting used to. But we're not new users seeing the scrolling pics as our first contact with SL.
