Problem with Group Terraforming Permission

I have a tenant, a member of my group, who cannot terraform her lot even though that permission is granted to group members.

The tenant can terraform if I turn on "Edit Terrain" in the About Land dialog, so I know she knows how to do it. The land is "set" (not deeded) to the group.

Her role in the group is "Member". Among permissions granted to "Members" are "Change music and media settings", "Always allow edit terrain" and "Always allow create objects". In addition, "Create objects" is set to "Group" but not "All residents" in About Land. She is able to rez objects on the parcel, and she can change the music stream.

I tried having her quit and rejoin the group. That didn't work.

She is using the 1.23.4 viewer.

It is my understanding that deeding the land to the group has NOT been necessary to make these permissions work for a year or two.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why this won't work for her?

I tried it on a microparcel on my sim.

Set to group: My alt cannot perform any of the permissions. Media, music, edit terrain.
Only after deeding to group it all worked fine.

Yes, you need to have the group actually owning the land for group roles to make a difference. This has never been changed.

The group build setting on the about land dialog is a land setting, not a group setting.

Thanks. Does this apply to mainland? This is mainland I'm talking about.

Why is she able to set the music stream then?

Also, members of my group are able to set home to my land. That's not a land permission, it's a group permission. It can't be as simple as, "you must deed the land to the group".

The only real differences between mainland and islands that I can think of are:

1. Linden Lab is the estate manager for Mainland.
2. Linden Lab doesn't support automatic land payments via tier for any other estate managers.

I thought that required group-owned land too.

That too. I know I've had to deed land to make that work in the past.

OK, maybe I'm completely wrong, and they've changed some of these to work with land "set to group". But not all of them. And now I think of it, they've changed things the other way in the past... they used to allow push for land set to group and changed it to land deeded, and scripted rezzers only work for land set to group IF the owner of the rezzer is online, otherwise the land has to be deeded.

I think the *safe* thing to do is deed land to the group, then they all just work.

I can clear up one tiny bit of confusion: "set home to here" for group-set land didn't work for a long time, then got fixed some time last year with http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-404.

The ability to set the music stream... that's peculiar, unless a scripted "land radio" is used, owned by the parcel owner. I mention that because any such devices would have to be deeded to group in order to continue to work properly on the now group-deeded land.

As Qie points out, setting to home was fixed and no longer requires land to be deeded to a group.

I'm surprised that a radio stream can be set, every media device I've purchased has had information about streams only working if you're the land owner, which in the case of a group member means it needs to be group owned.
