Hrmmmm.... That's a weird one. I've never had that happen to me; but I also run with camera constraints disabled. Maybe that might fix it?

From the "Advanced" menu, simply select "Disable Camera Constraints". If you don't see an Advanced menu, then press CTRL-ALT-D to make it appear.

If you try to view a prim from directly above, this always happens. That's how I know I've got things lined up :D

I've had this once or twice recently, but not while building. Maybe it's not the same thing. A couple of times while out sailing my camera started to pan out in a wide circle; not a wild spin, but a long lazy arc around the boat. I had to relog to stop it, although it might have sorted itself out if I'd left it. I was having trouble controlling my boat, so I couldn't wait and see.

Then last night I'd cammed in on someone standing nearby. When they walked off and my camera went with them. So far so normal, but when I tapped ESC it didn't release. I was stood at one side of the room trying to hold a conversation while my camera followed them around the building. I tried camming onto other objects but it kept tracking them for about a minute before snapping back. No idea if this is the same thing as when I was sailing, same as the OP build problem or if they're all something different.

It happens once in a blue moon to me... it just a bit odd like one of my movement keys was stuck...the one that makes you go round in circles.

It happens to me every so often and has since I first got on SL. Not sure why or how to fix it except logging out and restarting SL.

spinning madly

This happens to me all the time - like every few minutes. Sometimes it just stops after a while. often I have to quit. It happens for no apparent reason - if I'm walking and turn or if I'm camming around.

It's making SL unusable for me, so I'm not in world much now. I just get too dizzy.

I've had this problem too many times over the years.

Solution (aside from logging out): attempt to turn WITH the direction of the spin. For me, this always terminates one of these attacks. Going AGAINST the direction doesn't.
