This is something I always wanted to have on SL, and as many devs out there make stuff for SL I thought someone might have made such a thing too. Basically I'm looking for an application which can login a given avatar to a sim and the grid you want it to login to (as I actually want this for an Opensim / OSGrid simulator). Once the avatar is logged in with that application it would walk around, sit on things then stand up again and say random things from a list you make at a certain interval of time.
Opensim comes with something like that called pCampBot but it's not pretty good and that's basically a stress testing application. I'm looking for something that can login an avatar on a sim and have it act as a bot simply for making the sim nicer and not seem so empty. I'm also looking for something configurable, where you could specify properties for how the bot to act (eg: how often it walks, how much it sits down, how much it talks random phrases, etc). Only thing I want is for the bot to not risk crossing borders to other regions while walking around, as I obviously want it for only one sim. It would also be good if a real avatar could own the bot and make it say stuff or wear clothes, attachments, etc. from in-world. So yeah, is there any such application out there?

I'm not aware of any application capable of that but if you have programming skills you can make your own using libsl.

Dunno if this one is what you are looking for: http://uncensored.xstreetsl.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=494467It certainly has a lot of options and a DEVs api have a word with the creator

Not sure if that's exactly what I wanted but I'll take a better look at it now and see if it does what I was looking for (seems to if I look better). And sadly I'm not a programmer so I can't do such a thing, but I heard talk there are such bot applications around. [EDIT] No it's not what I wanted, because it also requires an in-world object it seems. I don't need a prim to be a bot or anything like that, I just need an application that logs in an avatar and maneuvers and chats it around automatically without needing anything else.

Sine Wave has actor bots. Various groups have created bot programs.

That looks good though I can't find a download link for the application on that page. I'm of course looking for something free too just for the note, I don't handle online money (except my small L$ count ) so if it isn't a freeware app I'm better off with pCampBot.

There are people you can pay in world who essentilly log in avies for you to wander arund and sit and dance and ocassionally saythings to make your place look full and increase your traffic.
On a personal note i would never go near a sim who felt the need to have essentially fake avies wandering around to fool people into thinking a place was popular. At lease most bot places hide them away and dont try to pretend they are real customers or guests.
Why not do a service to the community and put out camping etc or soemthing. Make it group only so you kow your getting real people and giive something back.
Or a novel idea, actually attract people to your sim through events, invitations, advertising or making the place something people would want to visit

I don't need them to make the place popular. My initial idea for an avatar based bot is to have it distinguished from real avatars and not even increase the user / popularity count. It's for a sim I spend most of my time on without any people around so I'd want bot avatars to make it look nicer and like someone's there. Anyway yeah, if anyone knows more please do post
