I dropped by the Place last night and had a wonderful time. Because of the scare about Grendel's closing (thank goodness, only a scare), and their new lower prices, it seems that everyone had been there and stocked up on unusual avatars. Crazod and Madhu were sitting in the middle of the floor, each trying to outdo the other with avatar after avatar. They finally settled on tentacle monsters (Claire, you should've been there!) who looked hilarious while dancing. Garrett showed up and joined in the impromptu contest...most of her avs were insects of one sort or another, and quite attractive in an arthropodish way. During all this, a newbie arrived on the doorstep. He was greeted by the usual chorus of "Hi's" but took one look and blipped out. The poor fellow must have been totally weirded out to see a couple of beautiful women dancing with bundles of squirmy tentacles, while a handsome and bare-chested gentleman (Chris Norse) looked on, and a giant green hornet transformed into a giant green scorpion. I've got to get over there more often.

It was entirely cooperative I swear! Crazod has been a very ... distinct influence on me.

I still think Crazod's tentacle av should be the new NBC logo.
I liked Garrett's cactus/hedgehog/pincushion..thingie!!
And Lindal, you looked lovely, as usual!

I knew I should have popped in. I was in cognito as one of my alts and didn't want to blow cover. Saw there was a lot of people there and wondered if it was one of those crazy nights. Dang it! Should have dropped the Alt act and logged back in as myself

Dang. I missed that. I was there for a short period to vote in the co-owners thing, and, of course (more importantly), to say hi to Stormy and Love, and later Max when he arrived. I missed the avatar contest, though. That sounds great!

Ah, I think poor Chris was traumatized by all the weirdness. Good times... Good times...
