WOOHOO!
I just went Premium today.
So, now I'm looking for a chuck 'o seconddirt to call my secondown. I'm looking at a nice green piece of Mainland, where the adfarms are not too close (yet).
My question: does ownership of the land include right to hangin' up a skybox for my digs?
TIA

TIA Hell yeah! As long as it's within your land borders. Get up there where the adfarms dont reach.

But be careful, the higher you go the more likely you are to get threatening rain.

Woot! You can use any building as a skybox, but if you're into dark I thot I'd mention Pocket's cute little goth skybox, at 13 prims pretty OK for a 512, and $L1 while she continues to play with it. /196/c9/222621/1.htmlOh and in the ad she mentions a teleport out to the deck ... for that, or any local TP within your property (eg. ground to skybox) use the free teleport disks from NCI. I can send you some if you send me an IM - they're mod so you can just pull out the script and put it in anything.

TIA You own the air above your land as High as you can Build (about 800 meters) and all the airspace above that to the Top of the Sim (about 80,000,000 meters) Angel.

Thanks for the mention Nika......the whole tp thing had me a little flustered.....I was under the impression that most of them don't work above a certain height....though I do have one on my own skybox...but I paid quite a bit for that. Mind you...my skybox is at 550M....would the height make any difference if the tp's were actually in your skybox....eg....from the ground floor to the balcony.

Why does your land have to be flat if you're using it for a skybox? Crappier land is cheaper and you won't see it from your box...

Hey Pocket! Here's the deal with the teleporters. The little teleport disks that teleport you by touching them work fine up in the sky - I just used one at 600m height, so would work great within your skybox. (they use llSitTarget command) However, their maximum distance is 300m last time I checked, so they wouldn't work so great to get from the ground to a skybox.
To go from ground->sky reliably, you prolly want a real teleporter that you sit on. No distance restrictions, in fact can go across sim bounderies. (llWarpPos command). Also available as freeware scripts. Let me know if you want either.

Hi Nika, are the freeware sripts for the 'real' teleporter' available in the scripting library? Tried search, but get everything but teleporters. Odd that.

Heya Nika, If you could drop me those scripts, that would be fantastic.....I'm not that familar with scripting, but I can kinda get the basics of putting one into a prim and changing it around. The reason I thought that some wouldn't work above 300M is that I had one...a well-known one and tried to use it to get from the skybox to the balcony, but it wouldn't work, just send me falling to the ground.... Anyway, it would be great if I could add that to the skybox..... Thanks for the info....

Crappier land has lower resale value, if that's a consideration. Apart from that surroundings at ground level really don't matter if all you want to build is a skybox.

Done. Sent you a local teleporter - its contents has a full perms script that lets you set the destination by changing the object "description" field (General tab in Edit) of whatever you put it in. Also has a notecard fully explaining its use. Sorry it took so long ... had a buggy freeware one that I decided to fix before sending it to you Also sent you a freeware long-distance TP script; prolly not needed to include with your skybox.

Thank you so very much Nika.....I received the scripts earlier on today...haven't tried them yet though.... I've been getting on with the 'deluxe' model..lol.... I'm going to elaborate on the deck & roof areas and hopefully put a few extras into the interior...... When I'm finished I hope you'll accept one as a gift for all your help? Thanks again

From: Berith Lytton Would you mind sending a set to me as well? Done! From: Pocket Pfeffer When I'm finished I hope you'll accept one as a gift for all your help? Whee! Sure, I think your skybox is adorable! Both of you, please let me know if you have any problems with the local teleporter! If it works fine I'll send it to Carl to upgrade the NCI freebie. I haven't used the long-distance teleport script -- if I had a set of sims that I wanted to set up a teleport system between, frankly I would buy one of the very good existing systems.
