We just gained an hour. Unless you are in Europe. Or a place with no clocks.

Actually, everyone else who adheres to Daylight Saving Time already bumped their clocks back. It's the US that is behind everyone, thanks to some hare-brained idiot in our government.

Isn't that North America (Canada changed too!) is ahead of the EU? After all, we start DST before the EU. (But well, I guess we are always behind, but we can't help that some placed the international date line so close to the edge of the US. Unless we start rotating the Earth the other way, then we could always be ahead...) Now, if the entire world just went to SLT, there would be no more of this confusing time change stuff. _____________________

My PDA wanted to change to Standard Time last week (I hadn't upgraded the OS to take into the shift), but instead it is this week. My European employees all were messed up because their time shifted when ours didn't and were all late for work on Monday. What did we really gain by holding on one more week? It's actually darker for more of the day. Dumb... _____________________

When did North America first start daylight savings? We have had it for a long time here in the UK: Mr Willett campaigned hard, and eventually the first Daylight Saving Bill was introduced in 1908. It was thrown out, as were two further attempts in 1909 and 1911. It finally became law in 1916, as a wartime measure because of an acute coal shortage. It then continued long after the war, and in 1925 it was made permanent by the British Summertime Act. _____________________

I just don't get why we keep having to save day light. Like what are we suppose to do with it?
Its not like anyone is saving the darkness for anything useful either. I heard its time thing but what does saving time in this way have to do with having the right time in first place? I always heard time is just imaginary I guess its also a part of our imagination too here. Your Imagination, Our Time Saved. We will spend it eventually. I am so glad I can set the day any time I want here. If I want midnight its midnight, if I want day it can be day time 24/7. _____________________

You'd better think about what RL would be like if it went to SLT... would you really like going to work in the morning and in addition to all the traffic having to deal with lag?

It finally became law in 1916, as a wartime measure because of an acute coal shortage. It then continued long after the war, and in 1925 it was made permanent by the British Summertime Act. Actually Mr Willett lobbied hard until his death but the DST wasn't officially introduced in UK. It was in another country (and its allies) where DST was first introduced. One of the side effects of the war. Wartime Germany, its allies, and their occupied zones were the first European countries to use DST, starting April 30, 1916. Britain, most other belligerents, and many European neutrals soon followed suit, but Russia and a few other countries waited until the next year, and the United States did not use it until 1918. |

The congress for the US decided to do the stupidest thing possible by forcing us to wait a week before the change back. In fact, statisticians have now increased the likeliness of pedestrians getting hit by cars by quite a bit due to the increased darkness after the time change. Wanna guess who will sue the government for the time change causing them to get hit by cars?

I once had a blanket that was too short to cover my feet, so I cut off the top part and sewed it onto the bottom. Then it was too short to cover my shoulders, so I cut off some from the bottom and sewed it to the top. Then it was too short for my feet. I must be too dumb to make this work. I'm glad the government figured out a way to make the day longer. I'll just put my trust in them and let my computer change its own time for me. --KC

last night we set the clocks back and gained an hour. Last time I checked it was Fall. What planet are you on? We lost an hour of daylight and gained an hour of sleep. It's spring in Australia I believe _____________________

Don't most computers, cable boxes, and cell phone clocks reset on their own? Mine do. I guess the stove and microwave clocks need a hand. (Get it? need a hand )
