Awhile back when SL gave the ability to set the sky settings to look any way we like, one of the Linden's posted an article with a bunch of pre-made looks....He had some that would make the world look like an alien world and many others.........Does anyone know where I can find this article and the pre-nade settings?
Thank You

Also- don't know about the official viewer but Emerald comes with tons of them pre installed.

Using the standard viewer, World menu/Environment Settings/Environment Editor/Advanced Sky/Sky Presets.

Yes. But Torley's presets add about 300 more.

I have Torley's along with probably another 50 or so that I've created......I have offered to zip folder them and email them to anyone interested~ So, I'll offer again. ;) It's not too difficult to place them into the correct folder in the SL files.....so let me know and I'll put a batch together for distribution. :D

But...on the flip side...it is way fun to mess with the sky settings and create your own.

A couple hints.....I found that keeping the sun close to sunrise or sunset position helps with lighting.....Having the sun set high in the sky seems to always create a brutal glare that never looks appealing. I get around it by making lal my skies with the sun lower on the horizon, and simply adjusting my ambiant and gamma sliders. Also.....when shooting pics.....it's very handy to be able to go into the settings and alter the east/west position of the sun.....can make a HUGE difference in lighting on the avatar and surroundings. Unless you save a change...nothing you do in the sliders will change the current setting permanantly....so it's easy to just mess with em until you're comfortable with what each one does.

When you create a new setting.....you first adjust your sliders to something that appeals to you.......then you go check the 'rename' box and give it a name......then you check the 'save' box to save it. You have to name it first.....and you'll get a pop-up when you save that will ask if you want to override the current setting.....that's just a default pop-up.....when ever you create a new setting, name and save...it will ask that.....click ok. Your new setting will save with the name you gave it. ;)
