Where can I find an animation for a "normal" female walk?

I have a "sexy walk", but it is a bit over the top for me. "Power" walk is fun to use now and again, but it's not one I'd want to use all the time.

Is there something closer to an everyday kind of walk for a woman?

You mean that women's asses don't normally swing 3 feet from side-to-side? Dammit - I'm gonna stay in bed from now on :(

Didi Wunderle makes some good AOs...I use "Lords AO" which is a good formal men's animation package. You can find them and model the animations in the store at http://slurl.com/secondlife/Chava/144/187/22

I have a 'Basic Girl AO' from Vista, which includes a walk, very simple straighforward, 'just a walk', nothing sexy about it. The AO is also simple and basic. It contains a slight hip shift but but not like some of them which look like you are trying to bat a ball with your azz.......

The actual walk is called NEWSWFEM, and came as part of something called Vista Animations Basic Female Overrider. The walk itself is midway between a "Power" walk and a "Sexy" walk.

My ZHAO freebie AO had a selection of walks and one of the 'sexy' walks is much less exaggerated than the other, and just look like a casual walk - but I'm skinny, with only gentle curves and I never wear stilettos - I don't know how the walk would look with a more voluptuous woman in heels!!

Perhaps it's the same walk. I get the impression the same animations can turn up in different Overriders.

When are you going to ask me over to "test your new furniture line", hmmm?

And cause my regular tester to be jealous? I don't think Faithless would stand for it.

Of course they can.

This is one of the confusing things about an AO. There are really three parts: the scripts, the control object/hud, and the animations. The most common scripts are based on the ZHAO. Some AOs come with animations, some come with a pretty attachment instead of using the ZHAO HUD, some do both. Most let you add your own animations.

Your best bet is to pick an AO controller that you like, and then if you see more animations, add them to your existing AO controller instead of buying a new AO.

The one I have puts a little set of icons in the lower left corner of the screen. When a particular section is clicked, it opens a dialogue box with various buttons. Although the actual look of that dialogue panel differs, in general it puts me in mind of AppleScript "dialog" panels. Am I correct in thinking these panels are generated by SL script commands?

I've always loved my CGBG walk/run ani-override.

She has them for men and women. Very natural looking.
They come with a nice easy-to-use HUD that works along
side of any other over-riders you might use.

Search Classifieds for CGBG and you'll see the one and only link.

Tomorrow I hope to have some video-screen-capture software, and I'll film the walk. That way, we can see if the walk you have from CGBG is different from what I have.

That's a HUD. It's made from prims and attached to your screen so that only you can see it. There are scripts inside the button prims. The drop-down dialogue in the top-right (is that what you meant?) is generated by the scripts in the AO HUD.

If you right-click the hud and choose edit>contents you will see the names of the animations. Right-click the walk and choose properties and you will find the creator's name. Much easier than video-ing it. Vista make great animations and I'd be surprised if they put a walk made by somebody else in one of their AO's. Also, Infrared's forum avatar looks a bit manly for him to be using a female walk (but you never know :D).

It took me nearly two years to find a walk I liked. Up til then, I just wore a group tag that said "walks like a n00b", which at least had the advantage of being low lag. I also went with Vista in the end (Perfect Lady).

Yes; that was what I was trying to describe.

Ah, thank you. I've checked that: the animation is called NEWSWFEM, created by Vista Barnes.

But perhaps Vista animations turn up in other people's AO HUDs?

Is "Perfect Lady" the name of the walk animation itself, or is it the name of a collection?

I'm getting to like NEWSWFEM a lot. The only problem with it is that it breaks into a sort of hobble when navigating obstacles; very embarrassing for me.

Possible, if they sell full-perm ones.

It's the name of the AO. It has a bajillion walks and sits in it, but not the one that you mention (once I found an AO I liked, I threw a lot of money at it, having had about 2 years to save up). [/QUOTE]

I think they all do that now and again. Don't be embarrassed. It's a well known fact that 99% of residents spend 99% of their time just looking at their own avatars ;)

I just had a quick look in Vista. It's pretty busy there right now, and I did see a couple of people with the same hobble-on-the-spot moment.

Thing is, I get this even when it's not busy, but have never seen the "sexy walk" break in this way. I'm beginning to think part of it might be a deliberate stumbling-on-heels thing.

But back to the main theme: would you say that there is a "normal", low-key female walk in the Perfect Lady set?

Yes, that's the one. All the walks in it look more normal (to me) than others that I have tried.
