Ref.TOS and SL logo or name. I am in between stuff with spare time so I remembered that we had some grace before complying.I checked all my inventory and found 3 items that might be iffy,I will post 1 for your thoughts. This is a fun item on the wall but not for sale, the other 2 are and I will bin all 3 if need.I don't want a ban for a bit of fun

A lawyer would probably suggest a line of fine print on the bottom saying "Second Life™ and Linden Lab™ are trademarks or registered trademarks of Linden Research, Inc. No infringement is intended." if it were posted on a non-SL website. (^_^)
But, inworld? I would take it to the Linden Governance team and see their reaction. They have two office hours. The one I often go to is at noon SLT on Saturdays. Just show up, click on the microphone, and expect a slightly dodgy answer if you ask something controversial. (^_^)y _____________________

yeah the question is whether it violates the you cant use Second Life (tm) name because (tm)Second Life (tm, RR, co, w/e) is submitted as a trademark now.

The cert. is ok as it is an item, but the university cannot call itself "Second Life University" anymore. If that was an actual place.

If it's just a novelty item you make for your own personal use, and you're not distributing it whether free or for sale, I'd think it would pass the fair use test pretty handily.

There's actually a panel to judge your media for conflicts of the TOS you can bring your items to? Conjures up images of the Great and Powerful Oz really, I had no idea. Not that I make anything all that controversial.
