How long does it take before land shows up for sale on the map with the dollar sign?

a) Instantly
b) Never
c) After "a bit"
d) Shows and disappears , and maybe reappears
e) Shows but clicking the icon does not pop up the price and description.

All of those. It's a lottery. It's probably SL database borkiness.
I've seen parcels side by side, same price, same land settings, same seller, set for sale simultaneously ...... one with the icon, one without.

I wish that *all* parcels for sale would pop up price from the map.

I noticed once that a land sale didn't show as a dollar sign until I set a landing point on the land. May be useless, but it can't hurt to try.

It's whenever the maps get updated. Does not appear to be a set time like "every 48 hours". The important thing is it shows up in the For Sale: Mainland land sales search instantly.

If you are eager to sell, try posting to the land sales forum here and good luck.

The yellow happens at map update intervals. Next day or the day after depending on when you hit the window.
However, the Dolar icon is an entirely different smoke and mirror system.

Yup. I heard about the "Landing point" theory.
It only works in theory. Tried it.

Maybe if you face true North when setting the landing point? ;)

There's no way that some tech designed so that the icon shows up under certain exotic circumstances unrelated to the fact of the parcel being for sale. Well, not unless the tech needs sacking because of one or all of:
1) That's an extremely stupid concept
2) Their code is badly broken
3) They were not imaginative enough to consider that the database would just give up at random under the load they were imposing on it.
