This isn't to start another debate, though it probably will devolve into that, I'm just curious. The other day I saw someone with an Avatar Rendering Cost of 45000 (yep 45 thousand). I was wondering, what is the highest ARC other people have seen. Anything higher?
PS - My lappy is going on 4 years old with a Nvidia 7600 and there were maybe 25 other people in the sim, most with ARC's in the 2000-4000 range and no noticable framerate drop.

I thought I held the record, but that beats my highest ARC by a wide margin.
ARC is a poor measure for lag, BTW, so anyone going around pointing at people and shouting, "YOU'RE the reason we're all lagging!" is probably wrong, as well as rude.

But ARC was never about fighting lag, but about LL abdicating responsibility for figuring out the real causes by setting player against player. At one time, I had a 100K+ ARC avatar. It used an attached megaprim to prevent the client from rendering the prim or the body mesh....no invisiprims required. It showed as an ultrahigh ARC, but caused no lag since it wasn't rendered. This was before LL patched the method out of the game and said a real invisible mesh fix was in the works and basic functionality would be available 'in the patch after next so we are fixing this now' (still waiting on invisible body meshes a half-dozen patches or so and nearly a year later).

The highest I've seen was in the 25,000 range.
It was an employee at a dance club. I experienced no lag, and heard no one else complain about lag (I realize that doesn't mean that folks weren't experiencing it). I switch my graphics setting to low when I know I'm going to be in a crowd.

About 4,000, but I almost never use the ARC info display.

arc can be fooled. what counts is ktris/fr. And many times it is the build that is the lagger. Like this Linden Home region: http://www.annotoole.com/15milliontriangles.png

I don't use an ARC enabled viewer, so I couldn't tell you. For all I know it could be me.

Nyx Linden was wearing a mix of certain prims with various textures and such and was pushing one billion, yep, billion with a b. He was saying that some work needs to be done on the calculation of it because obviously the value wasn't correct.
