i have tried editing everything in the "skin" and or "body" to get rid of my avatars rib lines. My skin and shape are both modifiable, but nothing i try removes the rib lines...
Is there any way to do this??

Wear a different skin.
Those lines are almost certainly a part of the texture, and completely unaffected by any Avatar appearancs slider settings.

Is there any way to do this?? I'm not crazy about them either, although I have a little body fat there that minimizes them; I'd like to get rid of the 'tummy line' effect, such as, when my AO moves me into a side leaning position, those tummy lines move too. I'd rather not have those, at all but don't know how to get rid of them.

Well, there is no feature in the avatar mesh or appearance sliders that I am aware of that creates any effect like individual rib lines. So if your skin has that appearance, and wearing a different skin from the library removes them (like maybe the "Gamer Girl" skin from the Library part of your inventory), then yes, you'll need a different skin. Now, if you're talking about something else, such as the lower edge of the rib cage in the avatar mesh, when you make the appearance sliders on the cadaverously thin and emaciated side, then you might not need a different skin. just a different shape. Again, you could try on a few of the free shapes in the Library section of your inventory, to see if that "fixes" it for you.

If you have just a little bit of experience with Photoshop or Gimp, you could download Eloh Eliot's free skin .psd files and tweak out shading and highlighting you don't want. Otherwise, yes, you have to obtain a new skin.

Unless you have an unusual skin, it shouldn't be too difficult to find one with a fairly similar facial appearance to your existing skin.

There's a gap in the mesh right where the breasts meet the rest of the abdomen. Some poses make this more obvious, and some less. I play with my AO to get a stand sequence that looks as good as I can make it.

Always, always, always get the DEMO skin first, and go look at it naked from all angles. Try before you buy! If you post a good picture of your av, there is a good chance people here can suggest to you some skin designers you might like.

Perhaps one could create an undershirt that contains just enough skin texture to hide the painted in ribs in the way that the cleavage enhancer works? You wouldn't have to buy a whole new skin or have to edit a whole skin.

My last skin, which was a Curio, seemed to minimize this effect somewhat and the one I am wearing now, made by A Piece of Candy, wow those lines are really out there, obvious. When I go back to summer belly baring clothes, I'll probably just go back to the Curio, right now doesn't really matter as am wearing sweaters, lol.

I am also bundled up in sweaters atm, and wearing Dulce's Secrets skin. Could go topless with her newer skins though. Nice blending in that area that we are discussing.
