Hi, Happy Holidays all. I had to sell my OS because of the increase in tier and then needed to sell my sim because of financial problems. Got about 1/3 of what I paid originally for it and just abandoned the OS because no point in trying to sell it when so many are up for grabs. >sigh< Now I can't get my money from my SL acct into my PP account. The transfer looks okay for about 48 hours then the money pops back into my SL account. I have a long, long open ticket and have talked to the people in billing but they can't help and the ticket lady takes days to respond. When I tried to call the conceirge line they said they won't talk to me because I no longer own a private sim -- even though I have spent several thousand dollars in SL in the last year as soon as I stop paying tier I no longer count evidently. So, I am wondering, has anyone else had this problem of getting their money out of SL? If you did how you finally resolve the problem? Has anyone ended up never getting their money back? I am pretty broken up over this. Had the transfer gone through on the 16th I would have the money by now and could buy presents for my family. But here it is Christmas Eve and I am broke. Sorry to be a drag but am at wits end. Anyone have any ideas? Thank you.

Have you tried talking to customer service at PayPal?

Talking to PayPal

Good idea. Thank you. They say the money has not come into their system at all so they can't do anything. The problem is all with LL. And the PP works fine. This morning as a test I transferred $25 -- the LL minimum -- from PP and into my SL account. The transfer of funds in happened instantly. But thank you for the suggestion.

Do you have an account at xStreet, formerly SL Exchange? You might get slightly less on the payout, but they use LL's Risk API, tend to be faster, and generally have fewer 'technical' issues on their Exchange, so it's worth considering.

Perhaps it has something to do with LL doing away with sending checks to people when cashing out. Since they want you to use Paypal, LL (Linden Logic) would mean that they will make it as difficult as possible to actually use PayPal.

How would that work. Can I take cash money -- USD -- from SL into xStreet? I did not know that. |

The longer they can hold onto our dimes the more they can make on us regarding leverage on loans and stuff. But I think I have heard of others having this problem back in the spring of last year. Some friends had reported things like this in groups way back then. |

Yes, when I sold my island I got USD for the sale. And LL charged me $100 for the transfer too. lol. So they get us coming and going. That fee for the transfer was evidently instituted just a week or so before they announced the OS tier increase. Almost like they knew a lot of people would be transferring land and wanted extra fees -- you don't suppose the Lindens are actually Ferengis. Ferengi First Rule of Acquisition: "Once you have their money, you never give it back." Rule 16: A deal is a deal ... until a better one comes along. Rule 19: Satisfaction is not guaranteed. rotfl |

As you found, Billing can't help because they only deal with taking money - not giving it back. Even LL doesn't know that. The letter from LL that announced the end of cheques suggested talking to Billing about wire transfers, but it's nothing to do with Billing.
If you're a Premium member, can you talk to Live Help, now that Concierge has disowned you (very bad, that)? _____________________

You will lose a bit in the transactions, but the X street option is still possible.
1. Convert $US to $L. 2. Deposit it to X Street account. 3. Sell on X street for $US 4. Transfer $US to pay pal from X Street _____________________
