Whenever I sit on something which is against a wall the camera moves around behind the wall to look at me from behind, and I have to rotate & move the camera in order to see what is going on.
I know how to do this, but is there a way of preventing the camera moving when I sit ?
Thanks

I think the short answer is no. SL is meant to be experienced in the 1st person so to my knowledge, panning the camera is the only way to change your view. I don't know of any other ways around it.....anybody???

There's nothing a user can do except panning. If you're creating poseballs however, you can script them so the camera moves automatically to a desired position and angle.

That happens to me frequently. I use the camera controls to move the camera in (middle control, click on top) and then sometimes move the camera up (right control, click on up arrow).

I used to sell a little bistro table and some 1-prim stools with llSetCameraAtOffset() and llSetCameraEyeOffset(), designed for tight spaces. But newbies hated them: the simple arrow keys don't move the cam around while seated on a prim with those properties set. The good part is that the script need not remain in the prim for the property to persist (as with llSitTarget() itself).

If you alt cam to a certain spot before you sit then your camera stays pointed there while you sit. At least that's how I remember it.

I don't like having poseballs take over the camera, I generally just try to put put furniture so that the camera won't be obscured when you sit. That's why I made my sculpty beanbag originally... you can put beanbags in the middle of a room and they don't look wrong.
