Hi All, Since version 1.19.1 (4), I have no sound in world, no wind, doors, typing noise, etc. I submitted a ticket, lol, no more needs to be said there. Is anyone else having this issue? A friend gave me a link to an older version (1.19.0.5), but isn't this new one "mandatory"? I was forced to update one day before I could sign on, and now we have problems with certain scripts and other things. Anyway, any suggestions would be appreciated, because I miss sound. I'm running XP. Thanks, Pinky

A while back I had this problem with one of the updates....was driving me bonkers until my friend said she had the same problem.....and somehow (don't ask my how) the sound got muted on her desktop. Sure enough...I checked my control panel on my desktop and the audio was turned off. Very wierd...but once I reset it...all was well again in world.

From: Pinky Vought A friend gave me a link to an older version (1.19.0.5), but isn't this new one "mandatory"? Pinky's comment is a good one, but as an aside: The 1.19.1.4 viewer is NOT mandatory. Both 1.19.1.4 (which has Windlight) and 1.19.0.5 (which doesn't) are currently acceptable. In addition, the 1.20.2 Release Candidate (which has both Windlight graphics and the Dazzle interface) will run against the main grid. If you run a 1.18 version or older, you will get a message telling you that an upgrade is mandatory (which it is) and pointing you at the 1.19.1.4 viewer (which is the latest official release), but 1.19.0.5 will still work. If you happened to be running the 1.19 Dazzle First Look viewer, then you'll be told that you must upgrade to 1.20.2 - but that's only if you want Dazzle.

Update:
I installed version 1.19.0.5, but I still had no sound, and the world looked hazy. So, I reinstalled version 1.19.1.4 to clear the haze, and for some reason, I have sound again, yay. Go figure. Thanks Kidd Krasner for your advice, if I had not tried the other version, I probably would not have thought to reinstall 1.19.1.4.
Thanks all, Pinky
