A lady who is renting land from me would like to be able to have her group be the group seen as controlling it. This is for the merchants she is subletting to and the students at her school, so all the notices, ads and permissions to put things down come from her 'letterhead' and not mine. My group name is more medieval fantasy and hers is Japanese, I would like to accomodate her. Any ideas how to accomplish this?

Assuming this is Mainland? (Otherwise presumably no problem.) I think you'd need to create a separate land-holding group that you and your alt(s) owned (not necessarily visibly) and that she and her officers had high-looking titles and lots of abilities. You can't deed the land to a group of which she is an actual Owner without losing control of the land altogether.

Yes, it's mainland... She has already formed the group with the name of her school. How about if she makes me owner of the group and then she and the other real group owner quit the group and I invite them back as officers, then I deed the land to the new group? I don't want any cut of their sales, sublets, tuition fees etc tho and I don't want the rent to be split back with them. (whew, makes me go all blinky)

(When you do it, though... well, just cuz I'm paranoid, I always have an alt as co-owner, too, Just In Case.) [Edit: it's actually cool, cuz her name will show as Founder, I think.]

The founder can leave as long as there is another owner on record BUT...
I was told this by 2 differant Lindens in world and I confirmed it in a live chat, if the Founder sends in a support ticket to reclaim the group LL WILL give them an owners role.
So a less than honest person could reclaim a group they started and instantly resell the land or otherwise remove it from your control.
I'd say start a new group with an acceptably similar name just to be on the safe side.

Thanks everyone who replied.. I started a new group with 'village of' on front of title, they seem happy.. now getting the land switched over without sending everything back to their inventory or bumping my tier up again will be fun. I'm not sure about accounting roles yet either.
