How do I go about properly creating a second account? Do I have to log out of the SL web site and then follow the links as if I'm a new user? If so, at what point do I link the alt together with my main account to LL's satisfaction?

You can have 5 alts with the same email address though, and in a way that would link them together. If this changed someone please lemme know, I havent gone through the process in a long time. _____________________

You're right Ashlynn, there's nothing special to do. Just start from scratch by creating a new account on the SL website. That's it. You'll get through Orientation Island in minutes and have an inventory with less than 700 items. How exciting is that!
The only link is by the email accounts. I'm sure there's some rule against going over 5 alts by using other email accounts, but how would they know? On the other-hand, why in the world would anyone need more than 5 alts anyway? |

You know what, I actually went through some time when the fun in SL for me was starting a new alt and going around to all the freebie places to see how I could deck them out...I also made one to try the new orientation island so I could help people when they asked me questions (knowing how that went was a good start on answering lol) etc. Because of all the changes in SL all the time, I wouldnt be surprised if a lot of people had more than 5! I see a few reasons too...if you want to try somthing totally different that isnt associated from alt to alt. A goth alt, neko, preppy girl next door alt etc...for new experiences and such. Kinda like how in most games you get 7 avs to try different classes. I made mine back in the day when you paid $10 to do it, I want my money back LOL _____________________

So there is no $9.95 one time charge anymore, even though the "Membership Options" page on the web site still says that?

Kinda like how in most games you get 7 avs to try different classes. But you can do all of this with one AV. You can have totally different shapes, looks, skins, genders etc for one AV and completely change your persona as well. I've seen people have multiple profiles as well that they shuffle in and out for different "scenes". |

I've seen people have multiple profiles as well that they shuffle in and out for different "scenes". Trust me, I fully understand you can do this all on one AV, however there are reasons to do it on seperate as well. If you are an RPer, or in different scenes, there are those within those scenes that do not approve of or literally detest another scene and, because of that, would treat those within their own scene very differently if they were to RP or participate in both. Example? Gor and Furry do not mix well at all. Reasons have been gone over on the forums before, but thats just an example. This isnt to say thats in ALL cases, just pointing out one of the few reasons to have alts if one chooses. ![]() _____________________
