Instant Linden Response! No Really!

Even though I have posted this in the How to buy land Sticky, I just had to share this where it will be seen.

A Linden came to my house to help me!

Last night, I was having trouble joining 2 parcels, and for the life of me, they would not join.

I contacted live help and in less than 2 minutes, Teeple Linden came to my parcels to help me. REALLY! Cross my heart! On my gerbil's grave! I swear!!!

My av is kinda cute, maybe that is it? It took him 10 minutes and a restart of the sim to get it straightened out.

BTW: I have a transcript of the live help conversation to prove it, (it's at home tho).

On the heaps of praises stack, I had a region transferred from time of acceptance ticket entry to deliver in under 4 hours last week. I have no idea if that's a record, but I was impressed.

And Kyle took time out to come rid a particle spammer for me on a lot adjacent to my mainland mall after I IM'd because I couldn't process an AR ticket. It requires the abuser's name and he was already gone from find, so I didn't know how to proceed.

Thanks to Leo, too, who spent hours hours processing my open space conversion on Monday.

Teeple rocks... he's come out to help me in the past, and was very nice and helpful.

I am glad you posted this... so many people here scoff anytime contacting LL is suggested, insisting that it NEVER does any good. My experience is exactly the opposite. The few ARs I've submitted were taken care of within days (actually fixed, not just declared "resolved". My support tickets have been similarly successful, so I know they CAN work.

May the planets align more often

I had the same experience, and I've also had a nice conversation with Echo Linden a while ago when SL ate my Paypal L$ order....and we hat Lotte Linden restarting the sim where we live twice within a few days to get rid of ghost prims, and both times almost instantly!

I've noticed Milo and Teeple Linden have helped people out personally...sometimes when it is their day off. They need an award.

I think many Lindens - maybe most Lindens - have their hearts in the right place and really do want to help people out, but are overwhelmed with the sheer magnitude of dealing with all the grid problems and have to practice triage.

Couple weeks ago, my anti-griefer alt was called in to deal with a land-griefing attack you would probably have to see to believe. Club property at a sim corner with objects on - this is a suspicious coincidence - immediately neighboring for-sale properties on the adjacent sims, chock-full of griefing objects. Hundreds of balls with obscene titles I would probably be banned from the forums for repeating here, emitting sounds that were at least two different sets of sounds so it was like listening to a radio getting two dissonent stations at once, and generating so much lag they forced a crash-reset of the sim while I was there. The owners were German and were unaware of ARs. I educated them on filing those - not just the owner, but the club group members who were harrassed by these things when they visited, and separate ARs on the names (racist, sexist, broadly offensive), on the noise (harassment, a separate category : )), and on the resultant lag and sim crashes (parcel attack) - and perhaps 100 ARs landed on the Lindens' virtual desk. Went back the next day - and the objects were gone, and so was the avatar that owned them. Squeaking wheel gets grease.

This was one way of dealing with the triage problem.

Look, 200 Lindens, not all of whom go around dealing with grid problems and complaints - to deal with possibly half a million regulars and their troubles - works out to maybe 30 - 45 seconds per Resident, probably a LOT less. Ya gotta make your case worth their while, or with the best will in the world they really can't justify coming around and dealing with it.

Lindens can be fast, they love to help, that I've seen. In July, Dee Linden restored a down mainland sim within an 1/2 hour of my report of it. Give them something they can work with quickly and they work it quickly: a down sim, a screaming object with location and maker, an against-TOS profile with name and tab by which to see the problem, etc. But, give them wrangling neighbors, griefers whose name can't be retrieved, and similar knotty problems with few leads and things don't go as happily, but I wouldn't expect them to either.
