Can anyone tell me of a really good place to get info on buying islands in SL?
And can anyone tell me after you buy an island and start paying the monthly fee are you on a contract for a certain period or if you don't pay your monthly they just shut it down?
Thank You

If you don't pay, they shut it down. And.. looking for a link...

Though now that page is slightly behind the times. Island pricing is no longer 1675 USD, but 1000 USD

You should wait a few weeks for the new land store to open. Right now you can only get an Island at the old higher price.

If you stop paying your monthly tier they take the Island back, so the penalty to you would be the $1000 you paid up front.

That's the region, of course...the "entire island". You can have any part or all of it be underwater, giving the land area any shape you choose.

I always read island and region as synonyms... since I've often seen things built underwater that aren't meant to be 'underwater' in the story or whatever.

Guess I should start phrasing things better^_^
