Wondering if someone can point me at a resource or help me directly here. I am finally trying to get around to getting an AO I like. I have the ZHAO II AO and some animations and am slowly filling it, playing around. I personally like the head-moving animation - watching where the cursor is - it allows me to give the impression that i am paying attention to what is being said, etc. I like the typing animation, too - gives someone knowledge that I am about to say something. I have heard that animations all have priorities and that the higher priority animation active at any time is the one that shows. So... my questions: Are the priorities "stored" in the animations, or in the AO? How do I set/change the priority that a set animation plays at? How can I find out what priorities the various "default" animations (like head-moving and typing) are at? Thanks (and a /hug) to anyone who can help me.

The priority of the animation is set by the creator of the animation, and can't be changed.
Some animation vendors offer their animations at different priority levels, so you can choose whether to override the typing and head-turning animations, or not.
I believe the head-turn and the typing anims are Priority 3, but I'm not sure. The important thing is to know whether a given animated pose overrides the typing anim, and most vendors will tell you that.

I like the head turning too, and typing (which is 2). And BREATHING! So I made my poses to allow them. Then a dear friend loved them, wanted them and talked me into selling them (see my signature). Why would I want to look like a frozen non-breathing statue or constantly fidget? LOL I much prefer to look at people I'm talking with rather than rudely staring off into space too! The head turning and breathing priorities are so low, uploading animations with a low priority isn't enough. But the technique allows other features, my stands will look different at different times and on different avatars!

You know I went to the animation tips section and browsed through it, but only got two pages and they were all from this year - I thought somehow they had been capped. Didn't see the point in searching when there were only two pages of postings... *sigh* Sorry.
OK, so in summary, the animation priority is in the animation, there's no easy way to find out what priority an animation runs at, except by experimentation, and there's no way to change the priority of an animation once it's uploaded. Since they are bought animations, I have no way of re-uploading them, either.
OK, now I understand why people would like to revamp the animation system in SL. It would be nice to have just a LITTLE control over what these cool animations do and do not over-ride....
Thanks to everyone for the links.

Kalderi,
If you go into your "User CP" you can edit your OPTIONS, Default Thread Age Cut Off You may specify a time period from which to display threads. Threads older than the age you specify will not be shown.
I think the default setting is pretty short.

ArchTx, thank you - I had no idea that option even existed!
