Hi all,
It's seems that all I can find are dance moves for girls. I will not pay 2000+ lindens for a ball that has no menu and runs through various loops. I need a dance animation or a ball or something for hetero men for my husband. Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks

Have you tried Sine waves? they have some fab dances, I could spend a fortune there. I fill my huddles with sine wave dances..its simple to do if you take your time and you can then mix and match your moves and grooves

Thanks Tiana, I'll go take a look now.
To Meade- What? I'm not sure I understand your point, I don't want to offend anyone, I just don't want to see my husband dancing like a girl. Thanks though.

Thanks Disco Fever from Sine Wave is amusing, very well executed and guaranteed to break the ice at parties. There is also a dance animation manufacturer in the Brighton sim (can't remember the name, I'm not in SL right now) who has an excellent range. One of the animations is perfect for the self-respecting male who doesn't want to make a berk out of himself on the dancefloor - a very slow twitching of an arm or leg now and again. Sounds crap, but sort of works.

My search doesn't seem to bring up sine waves, only the group. Do I have to join the group to find the location? And which one please, there are a few.
Thanks

Most dance makers don't sort dances into male and female. However, Owen Animations (search for chimera and you'll see them) does make dance packs just for guys. Have him try the animations there first (or borrow his shape) ... on my AV (female, short) they don't work well, but on others they look ok. Animazoo also has several dances that look fine for guys, I noticed a few in their newest pack. I mention these because the sine wave dances are SOOO well-known. It's nice to have something different too

Great, thanks for all the tips. I'm at Sine now (I can't believe I didn't think to search on map, duh) and I'm trying some dances. I'll look at the others too.

Thanks for that Nika, couldn't come up with the name. They've got some very nice individual dances there too.

"Huddles" is a brand. It is a HUD (heads up display). Basiclly it is an AO (animation overrider) with extra tools. It is generally used for doing animations. You put the animation into the HUD (it is an object just like anything else) and then push the button of what you want to play.
An over simplified discription, but that's the basic function.

No, it is more like HUDDLES has a regular AO as a part of it. A small part of it, actually.
Think of it this way. The AO you have is like a single handheld game. Asteroids or what ever. One of those 5$ things that you find on the toy isle of the supermarket. Huddles is a gaming console. PS2, Xbox or whatever. You can play Asteroids on the console, but you can not play Guitar Hero on the little hand held game. HUDDLES take the normal AO and expands it to be able to handle other animation uses, like dancing or what ever.

Oh, ok thank-you. Can you wear both? I picked up a animation override already and do not want to have to lay out more cash and "delete" the expensive one I picked up.

You can, it's worth a try. But it is needless scripting overhead, and some have been known to interact badly. But there's good news! Really, what you're paying for in an AO is the animations. And you can move those to new AO's if they're modify. Even if the one you bought is not modifiable (grr), you can remove the animations from it and move it to another, modifiable one. I'm fairly sure Huddles allows this. You can also buy individual animations and just add them to the Huddles. Many people use their Huddles, or other AOs, as a dance machine. (e.g. the ZHAO-II is a free open source HUD that does much the same thing, but comes empty and with a less sophisticated menu system). But I wouldn't worry too much about getting a Huddles now, you're pretty new and your AO will do for the moment. *smiles* Explore a little more, find out what you like. Then go shopping

Then go shopping I agree. You can just double click an animation in inventory to play it (well, double click and then click "play in world" when it asks you) so there is little NEED for anything more than a standard AO Hud like you have already.

I will note, though, that the package I bought came with two HUDs (ZHAO-II and something else, Navigator or something) and all the animations used were also separate in the folder for me to play with. One of the two HUDs is supposed to be a stripped down version.
