Problem Accessing Menu when Right Click on an Inventory folder or item

Firstly, my apologies if this is not a new thread ... I have searched here for similar discussion but without success.

If anybody has come across this problem and have found a fix for it please let me know the answer.

I have listed it on "Public Issue Tracker (PJIRA)" and also as a "Bug Report"

1. Installed 1.18.4.3 and was UNABLE to access the menu when using right click on an Inventory Folder or Item. I was ABLE to access the pie and edit objects. I checked my mouse against other programs and had no problem with it. Also used another mouse to double check.
2. Did complete uninstall and returned to version 1.18.3.5
3. As all my friends were raving about Windlight, I, with fingers crossed, installed it and came across same problem with not being able to access the menu when in the Inventory.

Yes I have cleared my cache. I have searched for other listings of this problem, including a google search, but without success.

My fear is that we will have a forced upgrade to 1.18.6 (see blog Second Life Scheduled Maintenance Nov. 27/28 2007) and I will never be able to use the menu in my inventory again (thus I will not be able to use most items). Shock, horror ... my clothes will begin to smell after a few days!

Forum readers, you are my last hope at finding a solution ... yeah I know I sound a bit desperate, I am!

Best regards

Janey

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

I'm not a technical person so can't really offer an answer....
As for smelly clothes :D ....you can drag clothes onto yourself from your inventory.

Hope someone can provide more help. Good luck!

Hi Sally,

Oh I am blonde (covers the grey)! Yes that will give me some respite when dressing but what a drag (please forgive the pun) ... thank you so much for proving there are people out there in SL land that are willing to help when I thought I had exhausted all avenues.

Best regards

Janey - although the graphics card takes most of the strain, you should consider upgrading your RAM - I am amazed people can survive in SL on 1024 Mb. This should be an easy and cheap upgrade (I suggest at least 4 Mb), as long as your PC is not a laptop.

This might not solve your problem by the way, but it sure as hell will get rid of a lot of other problems and enhance your experience hugely !

Hi Suzuki,
Now we might find an answer to our problem but I'm not all that hopeful. Please let me know if you figure it and I will do likewise ... have kept a copy of your post.
Best regards,
Jane

Thanks for the advice Rudolph

Hi Rudolph,
Your advice is good ... funny I haven't had much trouble with SL until now ... always wondered why people were always so abusive and so many complaints. I will talk to my puter boffin and find out the cost to upgrade and also might upgrade video card but only if and when I get my problem accessing the menu in the Inventory. Not much purpose on spending money if I cant happily play in SL. My computer is only 7 months old but we are a bit behind the times in Australia.
Thanks again,
Jane
