Is anyone else having a problem with the In world contacts list and off region IMs not being delivered - it's driving me nuts?

Do you mean friends list? My friends list doesn't show up at times.

My friends list has been funky lately; sometimes all I'll get is " hippos)" or else everyone is offline.

I noticed that everyone in my list was offline this morning when I logged on. Thought it a bit odd but didn't pay any more attention to it. Now I'm not so sure.

Last night I had the opposite problem. A lot of my friends showed as online when they were not. The list seems to be totally really unreliable.

The Friends list goes through periods of unreliability fairly often. Usually the web site Friends Online page is more reliable, but as we know, it's been down for an extended period.
The other tactic that tends to be reliable is to use the membership list for groups. For this to work, there must be at least one group to which both you and the friend of interest belong. Also, you must hit the refresh button regularly, as the online status shown in the group membership list isn't updated automatically.

From: Oryx Tempel My friends list has been funky lately; sometimes all I'll get is " hippos)" or else everyone is offline. I don't even get " hippos)" anymore. Now I get two names (out of all the names that should be there), one " waiting)" listed as online and one " waiting)" listed as off-line. I can click on the waiting and then click on IM to see which waiting is which, but I should have more than 2 friends on that list, and most of the time I have more than 1 friend on-line not represented on the list.

Have to look for that

Well - as well as the friends list being a bit flakey - with problems already mentioned here (friends showing online who are clearly not - and don't vanish until I IM them, and friends showing offline when I'm in IM with them (though they magically appear online if they are in the same region as me), I'm also having problems with group membership, having to sit looking at empty groups waiting to be populated. But not being sure who is, and isn't around, kinda takes the fun out of it Worst still, I'm about to open a club and trying to book my acts - but again, I need to be able to check their online status do to it. Speaking of which - since yesterday, if people are in another region and show offline, IM doesn't work either - I get the "Offline message" - and they don't get the message until after one of us re-logs. I'm getting a bit cheesed off with it.

Highlight one of the 'waiting' or 'hippos' items in the list and click on the 'can see my online status' checkbox. Click it again and, voila, the list of friends shows up. This has been working consistently for some time now and a friend tried it as well - worked for him too.
I never know whose name I am actually clicking on when this happens until the friends actually show in the list. So, be sure to check it to see which friend is highlighted and reset to the correct status that you want for that friend.
Hopefully this will help others too. If anyone has any questions on this or doesn't understand, please feel free to IM me inworld. I'll be happy to help!
