Anyone here use any free shoutcast streams that WORK in SL? I set up myradiostream.com and have it now playing from my desktop winamp. I can go to any browser and type in the URL and also hear my stream. I had a friend try in another location and they can also hear my stream over their brower in their home. HOWEVER (isn't there always one!) I can't hear it in SL through music URL on the media tab or any radio. It DOES find the station and displays the info. Yes, the media is set on my viewer because I can hear any other URL i put in there and any other station I put into my SL radio.
Any ideas? It's like it doesnt like this one stream even though I hear it on the internet in seconds.
Thanks in advance!

According to their web site, they rely on web advertising, not audio advertising, for their income. For that reason, they ask that people link to their web site to get to the audio stream rather than linking to the stream directly. I haven't dug any deeper, but it seems possible that they're doing something on their server to enforce this.
Also, when you enter the URL into SL, are you using the same URL as the web page that will appear at myradiostream.com, with the embedded flash? That URL can't be expected to work within SL.

no...using the exact same URL as use on any web browser. No tricky flash or anything. Just the IP address ort # Strange. I went and rented a 1 hour stream inworld for 25L and hooked up to my winamp and played find on my parcel in seconds. Perhaps SL blocks the domains of known free streaming sites? Who knows..just throwing that out there. Anyone with other ideas? If not, maybe I'll just pay a bit to rent the stream inworld. Anyone know of cheap reliable streams for Parcel music use?
