Streaming Audio for a Concert

A group I know wants to put on a jazz concert with the musicians streaming their music into the SL jazz club via a live hookup. I know that sort of thing happens all the time. Here's the kicker (at least what seems to me to be the kicker):

The musicians (and I don't know how many, but lets assume 4) are in different parts of the country.

Is there a way to get FOUR separate streams into SL and mixed into one sound?

Is there a work around?

Looking forward to your solutions,

I am guessing here, but I would assume it would be far easier and cheaper to mix the four artists in the real world and then just stream that single mix up to SL?

Even if you could get 4 streams working, the time delays from different parts of the world/country/whatever would make if nearly impossible to sync up, never mind the musicians syncing up.

So playing together in the same place and streaming (recommend a sound person to handle the mixing) would be the only way to go.

Virtual Live Band is a SL band that has players in 4 or 5 different countries and they regularly play together in SL. If you haven't heard them, it's a great experience, and they've now brought in live video as well.

The program they use for the streaming is called Ninjam. Link here:

so Bahaar get in touch with Virtual Live Band and see if they're willing to give some insight on how they do it.

Edit: ahh Honeybear has answered that already.

The short answer is yes, it can be done using Ninjam, but the hazard is that it is buggy and not dependable, and you better have some pretty tech savvy musicians available at each location, or onsite friends to help them. Even then, the Ninjam servers and clients are alpha level release stuff, and none of this is for the faint of heart. I did a show quite successfully with another musician and by the luck of the draw it went off perfectly. but each rehearsal had some kind of bug, which kept us ready for any problems when it was show time.

Its not as easy as playing solo or streaming recordings or streaming a live band in one place.
