Need Help figuring out WHAT IS GOING WRONG WITH SECOND LIFE

i am a paid member. i pay my membership fees with lindens that i cash out. for the first few months of doing this all went as expected. but recently it has become an every month deal with linden lab that they take the money from my lindens. then turn around 2-3 days later and charge my bank account for the same membership.
is this legal. can a company double charge you each and every month for membership fees. i mean why must i pay 20 dollars a month to play a game that has seen its day. with the daily asset server crashes, regions that go down for a "rolling restart" and fail to boot back up for sometimes up to 16 hours. a programming language that even the creators have absolutely what the rules to it are. a physics engine that is being hacked and recoded every 3 days.
resident surveys to ask me if my experience is getting better or worse while at the same exact time of this survey popping up the login failed box pops up. lack of support from the employees at the company. some of whom are taking bribes to hack user accounts to steal money scripts and take control of groups and delete the users accounts. suspensions being handed out to residents for nothing more than being inside a public sandbox region. from what i am seeing. Linden Lab has become an evil company. they steal from their clients. and they can because we give them our information.
they treat us all like trash and they can because we pay them. personally i feel that Linden Lab is lost. i feel that this world has become far more than they expected it to become and they are ill prepared for the expansion. instead of fixing issues that we all have now they instead create more issues for us to "deal with". Linden Lab wake up. i dont mean to be hateful and rude because i can recall a time that i truly loved Second Life. when i would sit for 18+ hours a day at my desk completely consumed with it.
and over the last 6 months. i can honestly say that i am loosing faith in this. you have begun a downward spiral that i feel if something isnt done soon there will not be any return. at the rate of content breaking being done by Linden Lab i can see only one possible future for this world we all share. it will be nothing more than a playstation game that we load on a dvd and its all preplanned premade and extremely sterile. a scriptless world of RP for kids.
already you can see many MAJOR CORPORATIONS pulling out. i mean i dont blame them as if i spent millions to open up a "VIRTUAL" office where i could train employees or hold meetings with clients and affiliates all over the world and the provider couldnt keep the system running properly for more than a day at a time id pull out too.
i suppose i need to get back to my post though. How can this company double charge a client for a membership fee every month then take months to fix the issue. and would any of you continue to be a paid member if it is happening to you?

Blinks...wow, that is hard to read. A couple of paragraphs in the rage against Linden would help.
As for you issue, I agree with live chat. I have always had great customer service with it but I have never been double billed.

LL is not SUPPOSED to accept payment for tier or monthly membership fees in Linden dollars...although I have heard of them doing so on rare occasions. You are supposed to be paying them in Real Money...so the billing of your credit card is the "right" bill. You should file a support ticket about the double billings. Keep filing them until the issue is, er, "RESOLVED" to your satisfaction. Or call the Support number. In the future, if you don't want your credit card billed, then convert enough L$ into $US each month so that your $US balance will cover your bills.

You should file a support ticket about the double billings. Keep filing them until the issue is, er, "RESOLVED" to your satisfaction. Or call the Support number.
In the future, if you don't want your credit card billed, then convert enough L$ into $US each month so that your $US balance will cover your bills. i do that each month... i sell my lindens to linden lab and it becomes US dollars. but i don't have them send me the checks or wire to paypal i leave them cash in my SL account so they can take that. they do they take that cash then charge my card as well. basically this is just a rip off for this to happen each and every month now

Call them again. File a support ticket. Write them a letter to their corporate address.
Stop wasting your time posting your complaint here...we feel your pain, but there is NOTHING else we can do to help you. And the Lindens will not see your complaint here or act on it (well, maybe one chance in a thousand.)

Billing IS responsible for this. Call them again and talk to as many people as it takes. Take them to task for this issue. And please use capital letters here when you post. Your OP was very difficult to read.

Well, first off you don't HAVE to pay $20.00 per month to access SL...you said, why MUST I? It isn't required.
Second, I don't know why they would double charge you, and although I am not a premium member, I don't believe they ding your L. They want your RL MONEY. If however, you still believe they are doing this...why not contact them about it? Bitching and moaning about a company you believe is "evil", yet you STILL use their program, doesn't speak too highly about the conviction in your rant.
And THIRDLY, I ONLY read the whole thing because I am bored at work, and it was somewhat amusing. Writting a long rant in one paragraph, tends to be quite hard to read and tiring on the eyes.

Your certainly not going to get an answer here. You will get guesses but no answers. Call Support, recall Billing... listen carefully to what they say. We cant help you here, its up to you to escalate this. Ive never had any problems with billing and Ive been premium over 4 years.

I would stop converting my Lindens into cash.
After they take a payment out on your credit card, then I would then convert the Lindens to cash and withdraw the cash as a check or what ever method they employ.
I would be sure that my Linden Credit account is empty in the last week of the month before the tier is due.

I'm sorry, unless there's more to the story I have hard time believing Billing told you they couldn't stop the double charge. Keep calling, submitting tickets, and talking to them over Live Chat until you get what you need. In the meantime, why don't you delete your card from their system? Or you could stop selling your Lindens or maybe cash them out fully.

/me blinks.. paragraphs would go a long way here.. my eyes glazed over around the third sentence.. good luck with your billing issues though.... it's those evil entities of the world that get you ever time...must belong to the deviant group.  And to answer your question.. no, I would not be a paid member if billing could not get it right.. I would have my overages refunded and tell them swiftly where to stick it if they told me there was nothing they could do...which I find hard to believe.

before another person tells the OP that they have to pay in cash, not lindens, they said in the first post they change the lindens to cash, and then LL takes that...
Just wanted to make that part clear as it irks me when folks seem to not see the obvious
as for the rest of the post of the OP I did not read it, too hard to read it
to the OP, call billing, or downgrade from premium, to a basic account no amount of bitching and moaning here will get you anything except ppl telling you that bitching and moaning here will get you nothing....
