Was there a new feature added to the viewer that allows people to not show up in the map as green dots? I can't recall about this or how to use....anybody know about this?

On the right side of the map there's a bunch of check boxes for land for sale, people, telehubs, info hubs, popular places, etc. If you uncheck the box marked 'people' the green dots won't show up.

I know about that one, but I read awhile back that a feature was added to be able to not show yourself on the map. _____________________

That sounds like it could be seriously abused. I mean you could plop an invisprim on yourself and be completely invisible in someone's house.

People can use those minimaps to track when I'm on the toilet. and if my nextdoor neighbor in RL had a minimap then I'd definitely feel uncomfortable. The minimap isn't your friend. Just like the invasive 'Online Now' indicators, we've come to accept it. |

Don't know if it is related, but while exploring the other day, I saw no avs on my minimap and nobody in range on my mystitool yet was surprised to see an avatar nearby. On closer inspection, I found it was a Linden.

Finally an option to hide green dots per parcel.
niceee. Its an old feature request, essential for so much more HUNTING role playing GAMES not being cheated by using the radar that easily. |

It shouldn't be a surprise the lindens can hide, even from the find a linden huds now... they control the horizontal and the vertical after all

If people aren't showing up on the minimap you might have connection problems or sim data hasn't completely downloaded. Lindens can (and do) hide their online status, but I've never noticed them invisible on the minimap. _____________________

Picture, or it didn't happen. LOL However, in retrospect I seem to remember that there might have been a green dot but nothing on the mystitool, which I found odd. Yes, we were both on the same sim. |

I'm pretty sure Lindens have always been able to hide from the map, minimap and scanners.

On closer inspection, I found it was a Linden. I had the same experience in a club.. An Av, not a Linden who didn't show up on my Mystitool. Didn't think to look at the mini map or take a pic. _____________________
