Ever since the update came out what nearly a week ago now I have had colored triangles sticking out of my head. Lines coming across my screen. Lines Protruding from objects and cover the inworld screen. I edit my preferences in graphics every five minutes or so and ck or uncheck the shading under custom. I moved my graphics bar to low last night and instantaneous crash occurred. My experience is deteriorating rapidly and would rather just spend time offline anymore than deal with it. Graphics card is fine and other people have told me of the same issue. I am NOT a techy and my brain will freeze instantly with techy jargon. Any ideas of an upcoming patch or something to fix this issue??? Thing is in March I spent over 100 USD and have been doing about that for many months now.

Go into the Advanced menu (Ctrl+Alt+D) and make sure that "Show Updates" is unchecked. "Show Updates" is a debugging tool that displays those little red & blue triangles you're talking about. It probably got enabled accidentally. "Show Beacons" is another setting that probably explains those lines you're seeing. Hope this helps!

This happens to me sometimes and I find that its a computer issue. I shut down my computer and leave it off for a few minutes - this grounds out of any p-ram and when I start up and go directly to SL - problem is gone. Sometimes having too much background applications running behind the scenes can take away a lot of power from your computer to run SL well (I'm trying my best to chat here in simple terms). You would be surprised how many applications windows runs when you start up. You may want to find a friend who knows how to configure your computer to turn off many un-need behind-the-scene applications. It makes a huge difference!
It also can mean your graphics card is overheating. Check your computer vents and make sure no dust bunnies are over the vents. As stupid as this sounds - dust will build up fast - esp is your computer is close to the floor.

Switch off VBO in graphics preferences. We've been trying to kill this bug for MONTHS. Go and vote here to have it fixed, and maybe post a comment, please: http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-3258It's NOT your card overheating if this started with your recent update. Also check the pics on this JIRA issue if they compare with your experience, but I'm almost certain they do.

From: Enrich Halasy Whats VBO? Shutting off Show UPdates didn't work I bet it didn't...show updates is just tiny triangles and only in red and blue I think. Look in graphics preferences under hardware settings-there's Vertex Buffer Objects. Just uncheck that one.

[edit: nevermind, problem has already been solved.. Duhr ] "colourful explosive triangles, spastically flashing at siezure inducing frequencies, and filling my screen, every time the camera comes within a certain distance of a flexible object" This was the description of a Video Card failure I had, specifically related to the ATI Radeon 9800 Pro, overheating repeatedly. It started out as brief flashes, ususally requiring a restart, but progressively got to the point where SL was unplayable. even for more than a few seconds. Whatever damage was caused by the overheating, got worse, and worse, more frequent, and more severe over time. This was what I called "Explosions".. I don't have a screenshot of what this looked like, but it was solved by replacing the videocard. If you can, take a screenshot of this problem (press [Crtl]-[~] on a Windows PC), then post it up here (you may want to turn it into a jpeg first, using a program like irfanview http://www.irfanview.com/) A Screenshot will really help us help you solve the problem. By your description, this could be anything from a weird setting, to a glitch in the program, to a hardware problem.
