How to sell an OpenSpace sim?

The precondition for buying an OpenSpace sim is not that you are premium, but that you own an existing private island sim.

This being so:

a) Could I sell my private island to someone, and NOT my OpenSpace sim

b) Could I sell my OpenSpace sim to someone else, who is NOT a private island owner?

Hi Rock,

I don't think it's possible. You need to have a full sim to own an open sim.

If you are interested in selling your open space sim you can contact me.

Although LL did not specifically explain this in the recent openspace changes, I think it's implied that the answer to both questions is No.

You need to alread own a private island in order to buy an Openspace sim, and traditionally they have said that if you sold your Openspace sims, you had to sell them to someone else who already held at least one normal island. They also said that if you held Openspace sims, you had to own at least one normal island in order to keep the Openspace sims. They did not say those rules had changed, in that blog post.

I am sure that when they rewrite the KB article, this will be spelled out.

Nope. Knowledge Base:

From: someone
To continue to own Openspaces, you must also continue to own at least one normal estate. If you transfer your last estate, you must also transfer the Openspaces to someone eligible to own them, or give them up, as you cannot own Openspaces on their own.

You can sell Openspaces to another resident if you wish but the new owner will need to own an estate already to be eligible to own them. The normal transfer fee of USD$100 will be charged to the seller.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Did anybody get any clarification about the transfer fees for Open Space sims - I assume it used to be US$100 per set of 4, what's the situation now?

I'd assume it's still $100. It was $100 for one regular sim, and it's probably just as much work to transfer a regular sim as it is to transfer an openspace sim.

100$ per sim? Seems to me that if you were buying a few of them, the transfer costs just quadrupled...
