Hi,

I would like to create a second basic account (pay the one time fee for a second identiy/avitar) and can't find any instructions for this. I've looked thru the account information & explanations, knowledge base, and went ahead and tried to register with the same birth date and email and I had an error.

Can anyone tell me how this is done?

Also, in the membership account breakdown the basic accounts have a 'sign up' L$ credit for the 1st account. I didn't receive this and my friend who just joined did not either. How do we go about getting that?

I had the same question, because it *does* say you have to pay a one-time fee. However, when I just signed up with a new alt, it didn't give me the option to pay.

I was scared I'd get banned for a TOS violation, so I e-mailed SL, and their response was this - so hope this helps

At Linden Lab, we love that our Resident's are so honest with us about creating alt accounts.

However, we aren't currently charging for Alt accounts, so you don't need to pay anything!

Did you add a payment method at the time you created the account? That bonus also has this note attached to it:

From: someone

3 Signup bonus is issued only on our confirmation of valid credit card or other identity information. You will not be charged for this bonus – the information is collected only to confirm your identity.
Note: Bonus applies to the first account only.

I thought they removed the fee for alts since nobody payed it anyway?

Thanks, I'll try to register again for my 2nd account. The first time I had an error and it wasn't completed. How were you able to email SL? I find it difficult to locate the area to submit a ticket!!! :>

Ann - I did add my credit card info into my account and they also verified my age, but the L$ never appeared.

I really wish they would take the alt fee message down. We keep getting people asking about it here in the forums which is completely understandable why there is confusion.

I have my primary av plus 2 alts. My partner has his primary av and his 2 alts but his account is really linked to mine so I guess technically I have 5 alts. Some people have many, many more with no charges.

Some day they may start charging again but until that day comes...

4.Premium signup bonus is granted to new registrations only. You will receive your signup bonus 45 days after the signup date, assuming your credit card has been accepted.

Your bonus gets credited somewhere between the 1st and 45th day of premium membership
