Hi all,
I just uploaded an image to use as a piece of art and put on my wall. Well I went to move it and it looks like it is part of my wall and I will have to remove my whole wall and start over? How can you remove a texture once you have placed it? UGGGHHHH!

Find the original wall texture and apply that to the wall and it should replace your picture. Either that or it's a bug and will probably correct itself next login.

How can you remove a texture once you have placed it? UGGGHHHH! Select the wall Open the Edit menu check the Select Textures box click on the surface of the wall you want to re-texture click on the Texture tab in the Edit menu Apply new (or old) texture, or select Blank for none.

Right click on the wall and select "Edit." Select the Radio Button in the Edit Window that says "Select Texture." Left click on the surface of the wall that you want to retexture. Go to the textures tab in the Edit window. In the little picture that shows your texture, left click, then find the original wall texture in the selection box. Choose, and your wall surface should be back to normal.
[Edit: Lindal's faster than I am.]

In addition to what Lindal and Oryx said, if you have another wall rezzed with the correct texture, you don't have to go searching for the texture. You can pick the eye dropper (or whatever it is) and then click on the other wall. [Edit: ] --Hugsy

Even faster than looking up the old texture in the browse box -- use the eyedropper tool to select the texture from an un-corrupted wall surface (either in this object or any other that's visible) and select apply. (Oryx, we're tied for the day. I'll settle for that. ) [EDIT. Dang. Hugsy's in the running for Fastest Reply-er, too!]

Just in case:
If you want to hang your art as a picture, make a prim and put the picture on it. Then move it over to the wall. Dragging a texture to the wall just changes the wall texture.
Unless it's a mural, in which case disregard the above.

You can do that with any texture available, even if it's not in your inventory, but only in your house, or something similar? If so, it's really good to know. I swear, I learn something new everyday on these forums. Even things I didn't realize I needed to know.
