Does Linden Labs take Paypal, and if not, why? If so, how do you set it up?

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

My partner tried to set up payment via Paypal and it did not appear in the payment options dialog under Update Payment Method....what did we miss or not do?

No, it's a recurrent glitch with SL, and the site has been a little hinky the last few days anyway. I had it with my alt and, as it turned out, I had to set up a separate email for her before the option showed up. I don't know if that could be the issue for your partner, but a Linden also told me that using a non-freebie email has sometimes been necessary for others before the PayPal option appeared. Honestly, I got the feeling that they don't know what's causing it either. :(

The non-freebie e-mail thing is weird. I use Yahoo and have for the last 10 years. I don't pay for a dime of it. LL had no problem accepting it.

At any rate, yes, you should be able to use PayPal to send/receive money from Linden Lab. If you have big problems, I'd suggest calling their Billing Department.

It might also have something to do with the age of your Yahoo account-there is currently a really nasty censorship thing going on with Flickr if you have a German Yahoo account (they just refuse to show you ANY pictures rated mature, no matter WHAT you try), but I can use Flickr completely uncensored because my account still dates from the time it was...Geocities, 13 years ago, and no one has linked it yet to Germany. maybe it's the same with your account, that it works differently?
I use Paypal for my alt, and the same account but different Email for my mum's account, and my main account uses credit card and yet another Email address.

It shouldnt, but as has been said, the sites been...well screwed up to say the least. Im in Canada and have been using PayPal with no problems with a hotmail.com email. So I would call LL up and see if that sorts it out or just try a different email. I think with it lately its just a case of it choosing who to work for and who not to. =s
