I'm assuming it is ok for a Teen SL (a Resident on the Teen Grid) to go onto the Beta Grid to test something - is that correct?

Umm.. no? The Beta Grid is of the Main grid.. thus, not suitable for teens, is my reasoning. That said.. why would you want to torture the teen anyways? I mean, geeze, it's bad enough that LL uses us adults as guinea pigs!

Oh dear.....I just met a teen on beta and didn't realise they shouldn't be there! Didn't think about it until later.

Time for me to be uncharacteristically pedantic. 18 and 19 year-olds are teens but they are allowed. Unhelpful information delivered with a smile!!

Can a teen grid acount be used to log in to the Beta Grid?
I assume a teen grid account can't log in to the main grid. I don't actually know that for a fact, never had a teen grid account nor read anyone comment on actually trying it.
If a teen grid account can't access the main grid if would seem that the system should not allow them to access the beta grid either;if they can, then the beta grid is not testing that part of the system properly. If the owner of the teen grid account can't access the beta grid with their teen grid identity then they'd need to get a main grid account to do so - which would involve lieing about their age, wouldn't it?

I don't actually know that for a fact, never had a teen grid account nor read anyone comment on actually trying it. There's only one main grid which is shared by the adults and the teens. What keeps the two from mixing is that every avie has a parent estate id that determines which sims they can access (sims have an estate id and a parent estate id) and who you can interact with. A teen logging on to the beta grid (assuming LL even imports their accounts for beta) should end up on a beta teen sim, if they're managing to get onto "our" sims on beta, LL needs to know.

Thanks Kitty - that's what I was concerned about. This particular teen was just using the public sandbox on beta and I felt in retrospect a bit surprised that he could logon.

Yeah, I guess that having beta adult and teen grids (i.e. one grid, different access lists) would be the way to have beta parallel main. Is there in fact a Havoc 4 Beta Teen sim?
Is the Aditi system physically separate from the Agni system? Does Aditi have machines in SF and Dallas?
With one sim running per core, and quad core servers, on could imagine one server running both an adult grid and a teen grid, each having one real sim and one beta sim.
When the processors get to having 1024 cores per processor one could have the adult grid and the teen grid and the infant grid and the church grid and the atheist grid and the coke grid and the pepsi grid and so on all distinct and separated from each other from a user's point of view but with all the computation for the distinct worlds essentially comingled with each other physically. Hee hee.
I read in chat inworld that we have servers in Los Angeles - is that right or not?

From: Colette Meiji Look ma, no brains! LOL! To be fair he did seem an intelligent lad and he wasn't up to anything you could say was bad - just using the sandbox, as was I at the time. Another question - if I had had my wits about me and had reporting him as suspected under age on the beta grid, would that report have got through? Has anyone ever AR'd or reported underage access on beta?
