[11.36AM PDT] The best news is: our Ops Team has resolved the issue, and all search functions and teleports are now fully operational. It's now 15:00 and guess what? (You only get one guess.) That's right! Search still hasn't worked at *ALL* since before they claim it was *fixed*. They need to actually check and see if whatever they did actually did anything at all. Maybe we should get someone to come in and see what's wrong with tech. support and get them fixed before we let them try and fix the hardware/software problems. And No, I'm not being too hard on them. I'm a systems technician, and if I ever did anything that sloppy, I'd get fired... Which may not be a bad idea for whoever keeps dropping the ball on weekends around here. I'm gettin' tired of this *Stuff*! (Feel free to replace "stuff" with the word [preferably an expletive] of your choice.)

From: Denise Bonetto I have just come out and it's been working fine for me the last couple of hours You haven't tried to use SEARCH. Click the Search button at the bottom of your viewer. Then try to find anything in Places. I just now tried it. And it still doesn't work. As of 15:58, it replies with, "Service unavailable". You two must be the Techs that claim that the Search is still working... You're Fired!

Search definitely doesn't work for me and has not worked all evening, tried it with 3 accounts on 2 different PCs. But I'm glad to hear that it works for some, that gives hope for my weekend sales.

I know it wasn't working earlier so when I logged back in around 10pm uk time I did several searches on my shop to check all was coming up in both places and classified

From: Oryx Tempel My Search works fine right now... has all day. Weird. Hmmm, I've got two different PC's used by myself and my better half, and search isn't working on either one of them. I probably need to logoff and back on again for the umpteenth time and maybe then it will resume working... But I doubt it. Not until mid Monday morning when LL really finds out what's broken... Then we might find out about it on Tuesday... Immediately followed by a love letter from Torley telling us about a great new feature that's better than sliced bread... Immediately followed by a notice that the scheduled downtime has been extended from between 9:00am-11:00am to 6:30am-1:30pm due to some bad something they found somewhere and everything will need to be re-located from point A to point B and back again to fix it. Then on Thursday we will all rinse and repeat as necessary.

Must be a defect harddisk again. A single harddisk that, for some odd reason, renders not only a whole RAID array unusable (a RAID built exactly for the case that a harddisk bites the dust), but the whole grid, because all backup databases fail when a single database server gives up (backup solutions built exactly for the case that a single server kicks the bucket).
Or LL's provider has bandwidth problems. Or the routers have a bug. Or all at once, plus phone support lines being down. Whatever it is, it won't be LL's fault and won't have anything to do with voice or other recent changes. And we can still send postcards, so how could we possibly complain? Postcards are so much fun.

I think that is a Typo. They meant their OOPS! Team.

Well, it's now 5:40pm and finally, Search Places is working. Maybe they just forgot to say anything about the *fix* working for some of us right away, but the rest of us will just have to wait over 6 hours for the fix to work its way to us. There's something very wrong with their system and they're either not recognizing it or just refusing to let the users know what's goin' on. "We are not Mushrooms!" - SL user Rooke Ayres. You can quote me on that.

Sloppy is the tech teams middle name, don't you know that by now? They also have other names they go by like, incompetent, inept, clueless, lazy, don't care and a few more I won't mention atm.
All kidding aside, let's be real here. When have they ever fixed something that broke down in a proper time frame? When have they ever given priority to essential things that are very inportant to the way of life in sl, like the teleportation or the constant daily crashes and daily bouts of lag? Among many other things.
And even after they've told us to be patient which is their favorite word, when have they fixed something and fixed it correctly the first time around?
And now, lately, sl is at an all time worse. Nothing seems to work. The forums are filled with complaints and for what? The voice system they so proudly advertise is terrible and we all know this but they haven't done anything about it.
Thier goal was to fill the game with bodies, with accounts and they didn't care how it was done, long as it was and for what? To show the world and corporations that sl was in fact a game that had many people. That's why they let everyone in without checking for any type of ID. Took a few yrs to get to 1 million and just a few short months to surpass 2 mil.
Meanwhile, things continue to spiral downward because nothing is fixed and fixed right and in a proper time frame. This is just a way of life with the games tech team but then again, we all know this.
Nothing new there.

The worst part about it all is it's not like something new breaks all the time, but the same old things break over and over and over. They need to redesign the system in a way that doesn't break the same way all the time, or have some kind of alerting system that tells them something just broke, so at least the down time is minimized.
