Each time I crash, and it's WAY too frequent an event now, I am given the option to file a crash report. I've been actually been doing this, but am wondering if I should bother. Does anyone read this things? Should I just click Cancel and get on with logging back in?

I let the crash logger run. It only takes a minute and maybe there is the off chance that they actually are looked at.

Depends on your crash. If you crash down to BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death) which means that you have to physically turn your computer off and then back on, it's not an SL problem, it's a problem with how your computer talks to your video card, and the permissions and stuff. If you only freeze, or crash down to desktop, then, yes it's an SL crash and you should definitely run the crash reporter.

I always imagine they have some awesome software that takes apart crash logs that people send in, and they can set up filters and searches on new reports, and it automatically finds patterns and presents it all on a customized interface. Hehehe.

For us as residents to be able to answer any of those questions, we would first have to somehow pierce the Iron Curtain and have actual two-way communication with real live Lindens.

I almost always send mine. Not sure why, guess I'm hoping that they do get logged and investigated somewhere. For example, like others, I used to crash every time I emptied trash, and always sent a report for that because it happened so often. It's actually better now, only happens about 2 in 10 times that I empty my trash. I hold onto the hopeful belief that it's because the crash reports were read by a Linden. (But maybe I'm just a little delusional..not sure)
