I've just come home and went to log in. Closed for Maintenance. Can't reach Support and there's nothing on Grid Status or Blog. Why don't Linden's communicate!!! No that's like asking water to naturally flow up hill.

I crashed and when I went to log back in I got the "closed for emergency maintenance" message.

Hope they get it open again soon.

Groups of residents will be affected at different times, from 6.30 to 8.00 a.m. on Tuesday and Thursday, but affected residents will only be affected for a period of 15 minutes, during which they’ll be unable to log in.

Hopefully those of us locked out will be able to get in soon. But as it looks like they've had at least some planning for it, would have been nice if they'd announced before starting to lock the doors.

The "partial outages" message doesn't apply; unless something VERY strange is going on it's only Monday right now. All I can figure is that something really bad has happened and people are too busy to update the blog.

Thank u to everyone! And yes, I too think it's Monday. And also on Wednesday/Thursday they're bringing in server upgrade 1.22.2 which hopefully will solve the problems with flying and rezzing.

Please be aware that our billing processor is currently experiencing issues which will result in failed attempts to charge items through CC information. (i.e., membership fees, tier, L$ buys through LindeX, billing for Private Estates, etc..)

wow I last logged into this forum 12-31-1969....I suppose its beside the point that I wasn't even born then..oh well....is SL closed because Im getting the "Second Life cannot be accessed from this computer"....blurb...loves that...just as Im reading Second Life cannot be accessed blah blah..I get the satisfaction survey questionnaire pop up... wth.

Second Life cannot be accessed from this computer

I just attempted to log into second life and received the following popup message:

"Login failed.
Second Life cannot be accessed from this computer.

If you feel this is an error, please contact
[email]support@secondlife.com[/email]."

Have you seen it?

I am not thinking there is any kind of grid issue because the login screen cheerfully states that the grid is ACTIVE (in bright green), with 61k users online, and there's no comments about it on the main page. So I email their support address with a question. What's particularly amusing is that the response I received:

Lovely, so LL has automatically rebuffed the email query I sent to the support address which their error message indicated, and then directed me to their "support site". There's no direction or information for dealing with a problem at said site, just a list of links, but I attempt to open a ticket, to be directed to a gorilla holding a PC and a 404 message.

Now, I can only imagine that LL is having some really tough issues right now, but TV networks have had a test pattern for just such circumstances for, what, 60 years? Does Linden Labs really think that Second Life users want to be treated like mushrooms or what?
